decon
well yeah my rear suspension is horrible just like every other stock banshee. I've been reading around that the 01 raptor shock bolts onto a banshee, I was wondering has anyone done it? Is it big difference? Does it bolt on directly w/o modifications? I have a 01 Raptor shock that has been re-valved and re-springed by works that has been laying around from my old raptor. I already have yfz450 a-arms with 400ex works shocks up front and that setup works great, but I also want a better ride & the rear end to sit higher, and I heard the raptor shock is a little taller. Opinions please.

decon
Nah I haven't made it yet. I might do it today or tomorrow. I really wanted to wait for my +2 swinger to come in and put it on when i change the swingarm.
desertdeweller
I have mounted one on my bike but haven`t ridden it still doing the rebuild and need other parts. I have a +2 swing arm on mine it was a direct bolt on. It is like 3/4 longer if I remember right. The longer swing arm will also make it sit a little higher than it would have with a stock swing arm. My shock is a works with a remote rezzy and dual rate spring. So I am not sure if a stock raptor shock will work if it has a fixed rezzy. do a search on here I know someone else did and they liked it but don`t know if it was a stock shock or not
bellracing2
yes , it is a little snug to fit , because of the length . but when done it works great on a stock swingarm . caution : be careful of having too much chain slack ! a spring loaded chain tensioner may be in order . mine yielded about 11.5 in of travel . instalation tip : loosen the compression of the preload spring to make intalation easier ! GrMeyer
the only raptor year that will fit is the 01. from there on fromt he 02-05 the shock rez is off to the side and will hit. Im one just for sending in the stock shock and getting it built for what you need it for. they are already great. If you really want to up grade go to the elka with link and then there you go. but be ready to pull out some $$$ for that set up...
