How many inches of Ice is safe?

technically, between 3-4 inches, and 6-8 inches for a car, but to accoulnt for variables, they suggest a little more. 12-16 inches can hold a d8 doser. just stay away from channels and watch out near the shore. just a little fyi- your insurance does not cover ice unless specifically stated because technically, you purposely drove off the land and into a body of water.

hahahah, u guys are crackin me up! Well, we found out last night that 3" of Ice holds two banshees no problem. Yea, we couldnt wait to test it out first hand. Ill wait for 6" to slap the chisels on tho!

 

2-3 is fine as long as there are no thin spots and you have some "friends" with (make sure they are good friends).

 

I was riding on the lake a couple years back, and the main hub nut came off the end of the axle. I was near some muskrat vents and my right rear wheel fell off, and I thought I was going down. I just about wet myself.

LOL you guys seriously need to go get your head examined. Quads were made for land if you want to be on the water wait till summer and get a damn boat! I think i would be to scared to tuch the throttle if i was out there. :woot:

As long as you have 6" you will probably be fine. I went out a couple winters ago on a river and it was damn fun!

 

I don't seem to have the pictures on this computer though :down:
