My buddy just got a Banshee and we believe it has a lock out clutch on it because of the side case. I realize they are for high hp motors. Is it possible to have the side case and not a lockout clutch? Correct me if I'm wrong but a lockout clutch is NOT actually the clutch itself. Someone school me here..... This is the lockout and the faster it spins the more centrifugal force will create more pressure? Yep...your buddies bike has it on there for looks AND the ability to remove and replace the clutch without having to take the whole side cover off. rubberneck Posted December 29, 2008 Report Share Posted December 29, 2008 the ability to remove and replace the clutch without having to take the whole side cover off. I run the cover and no lockup just for this reason. Tip the bike up, pull out the allen head bolts and replace the clutch. Dont even have to drain the fluid.
