shogs
I have 2 weeks for christmas break and I figured it would be a good time to do some mods. I called up wicked and decided i'd go with there arms. I get them and everything bolts right up...except for the tie rods. The right sides are great but the left sides have shit from the powdercoat and just metal shavings in it. Bottom line they wont thread to my tie rod ends. Called up the guy from wicked and he really didn't give a shit. Says he can't do anything except re tap them once I pay for shipping both ways. He said "why would I send you a new set and have a broke set here"?. He claims there not defective but they obviously dont work. Kinda pisses me off I have 2 weeks to ride and fuck around and I'm sitting diddling my thumbs....Any advice on what I should do would be appreciated. Michael Jackson
the right thing to do would be to send you a new set and ask you to send your old ones back after you receive the new ones and they work..you shouldnt have to pay for shipping to send your crap ones back to him either, thats bullshit, he said "why would i want broken ones here".. then went on to tell you theres nothign wrong with them? whoever you are talkin to is bi polar or somethin haha.. you may as well just go buy the correct size tap and clean them out and be done with out. sounds like a dick
shee4speed
Thats bullshit..I didnt have any issues whatsoever with mine. I would take the bad part to Napa and get the tool to fix it or go to a garage or machine shop real quick and have them straighten out the mess. shogs
Yea the guys making this situation suck. Aren't left side taps hard to find though? And I have no idea how to tap it but my vocational school might. They do welding and construction I might be able to find the tool there. MikeNick
Take it to a machine shop..Anyways I'd do what MJ says and just get a tap set and you'll be good to go..Don't forget one side of a tie rod is reversed threads so don't tap it out wrong or have someone else do it wrong.. shogs
What kind of places can tap the left side for me? I think that would be my best bet.

dragbanshee
That really sucks, never heard of anyone on here having problems with the threads, but I guess shit happens. Just don't like the way its going down, doesn't sound like Tim the owner, but who knows. Is it just not wanting to thread in all the way or just not threading in at all? JasonsBanshee
Call and speak with the owner of the company. Explain the issue and make sure that you tell him you've got some friends interested in getting some arms and that you'd like to recommend his arms but can't until you get them on. Trust me, this will work.
jbooker82
Typical thing with buisnesses. As there products become more popular the price goes up and the quality control and customer service goes down.
shogs
I took them to a shop and they put some wd40 on it and cleaned it out and they went right in. Problem solved now I just need to work on my jetting. If anyone buys from wicked ask him to run them through the taper again after they powdercoat them.
