Talk me out of getting a 2into1!

Single carb setup is great. I have been using it for over ten years. With correct jetting and gearing you can have it all...

Try different size sprocket on the rear also. One tooth makes a huge difference.

^^^^ i agree^^^^ oncei got my 2 into 1 tuned right, and the rest of the bike setup for what i am doing.. i feel that i still am having my cake, and eating it too.. i am not comparing the single to other aftermarket carbs, just comparing it to stock carbs..

If you guys don't mind me asking what is your jetting? I have fatty pipes, vf3's, and a pro design cool head with 21-22 cc domes ( not possitive but im on pump gas ). I want to hook this baby up and go once I get it tomorrow and the guy from the store claims he will jet it for me so I wanna double check before I just pop it on.

30 mm OKOs. they are D slides wich provide a very nice hit and open up to a great top end. They can be a pain to work on however.

Little bit behind but thats OK. I got the 2into1 just need to make sure jettings pretty close ( a little on the rich side would work ) before I install tomorrow.

dont waste your time with a 2-1 onyl to lose some topend rpm ,instead of changing carbs for only marginal curve changes ,one of the easist most noticable ways to gain more grunt is to increase the static compression and your ignition timing ,of coarse your fuel chocie will dictate how much you can alter these

single carb < two carbs

You guys can say that all you want. I understand duals are better than a single. In reality its just common sense. You can even tune them to each cylinder. I got the 2-1 for easier cleaning and tuning. I like the look as well. Bottom line is I bought it because it's what I want for my bike, not what you want for my bike.

is it a lot easier to tune on one carb? is there less problems with carb sync ? sure ..my john deere riding mower is super easy to tune as well ,doesnt mean it is very exciting to race around the yard though . reducing available CFM is no way to make power IMHO

...increasing your compression ratio and dialing in your igntion timing is

Oh I forgot to say at the beginning of this thread, I'm talking about my banshee, not john deere tractors. Sorry for the confusion.

Well you ask people to talk you out of getting a 2 into 1, then it seems you don't like the responce. A banshee motor with bumped up compression and advanced timing and the right port job and pipes with dual carbs with out perform the 2 into 1 in every aspect. Once you get it dialed in you shouldn't have to tune it all the time so i don't understand the whole easier to tune thing.
