BansheeRider87
Im rebuilding my stock she into a trail moster. I have a couple questions for the gurus I'm going to have the topend bored to .40 and a mild port Have vforce 3 reeds I do mostly dirt trails and open dirt roads (NY) I will be buying a cool head or noss head or one of those companies I would like to know what size carbs I should get and what size domes to make some awesome power I dont want to run race gas but want to run 93. Thanks!
F.T.W. Banshee
You should be running 93 for even a completly stock banshee. You dont need diff carbs to make good power. A cool head with 20 or 21cc dome would make good power.
AKheathen
21cc's, +4 timing, don't go any smaller, and get some exhaust
Snopczynski
What pipes, and what porting? VF3's are the wrong way to go for reeds on a low-mid motor.
dajogejr
Since you're having someone port your motor, ASK THEM what they recommend. They will know how to balance and best complete your setup.... If you've talked to someone porting your cylinders and they DIDN'T ask what kind or riding you'll be doing, find another builder. shanYE west
I like smaller carbs on trail motors. So my choice would be 28 PWK's. But... what do I know.. I have a drag bike in my sig... :yelrotflmao:

Most competent engine builders will tell you keep the carbs small for trail motors...even with some stout porting. 28PWKs or 30mm OKO knockoffs would be my choice as well. 05.Banshee.SE
I run 21cc domes in the woods, works great, bunch of power. Love the fact that I could stay on pump too. Idk about carbs...I was thinking about 28mm Flatsides myself.

Buy a head...if it's Pro Design, you'll need automotive loctite that's capable of withstanding the motor temps, and some vaseline for the O-Rings. You will also need a flywheel puller to install the timing plate.
Dick Wheels
Grab one of the boss 1 piece billet intakes with the built in cross over. They look great and will keep your carbs up and outta the way of the clutch lever. I just installed a set of pwk 28's (trail machine) on stock intakes and the left one lays on the clutch lever. I just ordered a boss intake myself. I hear Pro Circuits are the way to go for the best low/mid pipe. I plan on grabbing a set. i currently run DG's and they work well also. Run your stock reed cages and some dual stage reeds instead of the v3's
shanYE west
boyesen or carbon tech reeds on stock cages are more then enough for your motor setup.. I've always been really happy with the boyesen dual stage power reeds. They worked really well on my Trinity TT ported motor. I couldn't tell any difference when I switched to the VF2's.. Just some food for though.

Snopczynski
I run stock cages with stops on carbon tech mid tension reeds. Seems to be the best for my low-mid ported setup.
