Wildcardracing
For your head go with Noss Machine. Great product, great customer service and he's an hq sponsor. I recommend the ricky stator plates, a lot of guys will flame me for that...but, I don't see the point in spending twice as much on a billet one that will be covered up anyways. True, the billet is stronger...but, aside from improper installation there is no stress on the plate so the cast one will work just fine. tonyown
Same as slobanshee06 said... I use a Noss cool head it's easy to install no need to change studs and I use a ricky stator timing plate it's cheap and it's perfect! I like them... bigdaddy69
For sure get a cool head as said before go with Noss Machine, also a cast timing plate you can find those easily on ebay. If you want VF3's call Jeff @ FAST 1-785-364-5325 he has a Christmas special on them @ a smokin price right now. Jeff can also hook you up with a Noss Machine cool head, however it will probably have the FAST Racing logo in it if you dont mind. Pretty sure he will have a timing plate also so he is your one stop shop. Oh and he can also hook you up with jets for you carbs your going to need those if you buy reeds. FASTOYS
Like mentioned , for your budget i would go with the F.A.S.T./Noss head, V force 3s, RS timing plate, and jets. You can get all of it at the same place and save time/shipping$. We can help you with jetting if needed and you will see a noticeable difference with these mods!
desertdeweller
Wow I am surprised no one went with get it ported and maybe the head milled. A new head, timing plate or reeds are easy bolt ons that could be done down the road with a little saving. If you got the cash to port it I would think about that, then add the bolt ons later. that way you could start with a solid foundation and build around it. dajogejr
When the RS, ProDesign and Trinity timing plates were the only game in town....RS was a pretty easy choice based on cost/performance. However...with Chariot being half the price of the pro design, 15 more than a RS...I'll be picking up a Chariot billet plate over the winter. That being said... If you're going to one stop shop with Jeff, all that shipping is combined...so...the RS Plate is a stellar deal.

If you're going to one stop shop with Jeff, all that shipping is combined...so...the RS Plate is a stellar deal. I would still pay the $80 for a PD plate rather than buy a $35 Ricky plate... The Chariot plate is only $50 or so, and the marginal difference in price is more than made up for in a higher quality part. Even with the shipping as a factor, I see no need for anyone to buy a low quality part when a better part is available for only $15 more. That is just me though.
