100 horse Passion Stroker?

I'm sure this question has been asked already but, I've got a Passion 12 port long rod 4 mill stroker. Pistons on 2nd or 3rd bore. What would have to be done or is it even possible to even get 100hp from it? That seems a little far fetched to me. If it's possible would it still be ridable or would it be a light switch drag bike?

Thanks,

Dave

Maybe with the transfers welded up and ground out. Highly unlikely though. Most of them dont get over 80-85hp on stock cylinders. It can all depend on the dyno it was tested on as well. Rear wheel dynojets are known for being way off on their numbers. So it wouldn't suprise me if thats what happened.

I'm being told that this person has seen 137hp on stock cylinders many times. Don't know the guy and don't want to bad mouth him or his business that just seems reeeeeeally high from what I've seen and heard. Jim told me this motor I have was dynoed at 80 horse in it's original stages with the right supporting hardware. I don't think I'm anywhere close but i'm also running the wrong pipes and too small of carbs I think.

I seriously doubt 137 hp. I completely doubt it. If that was the case, then twister and superior sleeve wouldn't have made all the big money they did on small blocks and big blocks. Their stuff would be getting whooped up on by stock cylinder 4 mill bikes. My guess is a not so accurate dyno, or someone has changed the story because of word of mouth.

I don't have the experience with these that it sounds like you do but I've heard this guys story before. The only time I've ever been realy impressed with a bike was back in the day when I put my first set of pipes on a stock Banshee. It's all been realy kinda ho-hum since then. This bike runs all right bit it's only about 1-2 bikes faster that my buddies, jetted and piped YFZ. And that's if I don't miss a gear. It's possible I don't have the jetting totally dialed in yet but it's still not the arm ripping machine I was hearing about.

I see you are in Bonny Lake. Where do you ride at around there?

some one got there stories mixed up some where with the 137hp out of stock cylinders.

as far as your cylinders being in the 80's that is true Im sure of.

wesw had a 4mill 12 port that was like a hot dune port that made some where in the mid 80's in hp

Then a few years back bkabina Had a 4mill 12port drag port that almost did 90hp on gas. I was there when his dyno runs where done.

I will stand up for Jims work he has been doing my motors for years and has always kept me on top

Passion 12 port 4mm stroker, for sure it can be 80hp... They run hard..

I'm not dogging Jim's work in any way. I guess all this stuff is relative. I rode a Trinity 420 along time ago that was handing me my ass. That guy was beating me by like 8 bikes. It didn't feel that fast then. It was though.

My bike now has what I'd call kind of a motorcross setup on it. A-arms, wider axle, full skid plate, all that crap. I'm sure it's a heavy bike. I gauge it's performance off my buddies YFZ. It hasn't changed in the last several years. He's about my size and weight. Same riding experience. Difference in speed is in the bikes. I don't want to change the equipment on my bike but the guys with what are supposed to be similar engine setups are getting me by a few bikes. I'm kinda thinking it's something I'm going to have to live with.

I ride the dunes on the Oregon coast and in Idaho.

That's a hell of a drive for you isn't it?

I was in Seattle in the summer. Trying to talk my wife into moving out there. My mom lives out there. Kinda thinking it's a pipe dream though.

Where at in Idaho Snop??

100 hp on stock cylinders is doable, but it will be a full tilt drag motor on methanol...probably not what you're looking for. One thing to keep in mind, a smooth broad power curve will feel slower than a peaky narrow power curve even if the broad curve makes more power. Arm ripping doesn't allways mean fast.

No it's a guy with a shop a little ways from me.

The nice broad powerband is what I need. I do like the drag racing like every other speed freek out there though. I'm going to try and sell my Pro Circuits and some cylinders and a crank I have and see if I can dig up a decent sep of pipes. Then I guess I will try and come up with some VF3s.

I'm guessing you guys with the strokers are running CPIs Shearers? I think thats what Jim recommended.

St. Anthony in Idaho.

So 5.0 your switching over to a hillshooter dune drag setup?

No not switching anything but go fast parts. I like the setup of the bike now. Nice and wide. I'm less prone to falling off that way. Don't have many hills to shoot up out here in shitsville. There's some at the Badlands in Indiana but nothing worth changing my bike setup for.
