NN2
I have an entire rolling chassis YFZ for a good price that I was going to put a motor in but after seeing what it would cost to do versus just buying a used YFZ already together, I'm going to swap the entire front end over to my Banshee. I have works tripple rates with rezzies on my banshee and wanted to know how they would compare to the stock YFZ shocks. If the works would be that much better I'll just use them and fabricate some different mounts so I don't lose any suspension height. Also, is the ride you get with the YFZ suspension any better than the Banshee? Those that "have" done the conversion, do you like it or would you rather have kept it stock? Thanks

NN2
Making new mounts wouldn't be hard. But if there isn't much of a different between the shocks then I'll save myself the time and just put the YFZ shocks on.
desertdeweller
if I remember reading it right with the yfz front end the bike will sit a little lower. I don`t know if that is with stock shocks or the yfz shocks. The yfz shocks are longer than the banshee shocks so it may really lower the bike if you run the works. Something you might check into there was other posts that covered that stuff you might do a search to verify
Michael Jackson
there isnt much comparison , ive ridden the 04 yfz shocks on my friends 04 YFZ, also on a raptor, and on a banshee conversion front end, they are stiff, unforgiving, and just not very good. i bought a set of works triple rate At steelers after deciding not to do the yfz conversion, and am much happier with them, not much comparison in ride quality , the yfz's are just plain harsh riding and stiff.. the works, they are nice and soft at first and soak up all the small shit, and still manage to soak up big landings and high speed whoops and ruts with my 230+ pound ass, price is right too at around $450 for a set of triple rates with rezzies, if you arnt happy with them within 30 days u can send em back and they will revalve and/or respring them again for free Edited December 10, 2008 by Michael Jackson
regalrocket
I have no actual riding experiance, but from what I have read, the 04 shocks are much stiffer than the 05 and later shocks. One of the changes was from a straight rate spring, to a progressive rate spring. Valving might have also changed.
