PWK OR PJ?

MarineNYC

Recommended Posts

I was told to buy a set of 33 PWK carbs. I have a chance to get a set of 35mm PJ's for a good price. Is 35 too much being that my motor isnt stroked? Why are the PWK's in more in demand? Are they better? Pros Cons? Please let me know because I dont want to leave this guy hanging too long.

get the 35mm carbs if you can get a really good deal.

PWK might be a slightly better carb, but not 2mm volume better.

Dont worry bout your bottom end. You will be going with a 4mil or

larger anyway. And prolly a cheetah cub or something. LOL

We may laugh, but know it's true !

Well, I gotta chime in, since I'm selling PJ's. They ain't that hard to set up. The part numbers for all the internals are the same as PWK's. Same jets, same needles, and seats. I don't see much of a difference in them. The PJ's that I have, run great. Throttle response is very crisp. If I could find some 39 or 40mm PJ's, I'd buy them for my new setup. IMO, it's like body plastics. Fullbore's are the new happening thing, so people buy them. Same concept.

his motor is not stroked ! and he is going to glamis for pres day . no reason to go that big ! you can get over 70 hp with a stock size carb .

I'm not saying that he has to be the one to buy them. I'm just defending the PJ's. I'll just remind everyone about all of the very recent postings about all the problems with jetting PWK's. Granted, not a substancial amount of people have PJ's, but you don't see the people that do have them, posting problems with them. Here's a few examples that are on the first page of the jetting section.

I'm not Having problems jetting my PWK's. I just wanna make sure that I have a good starting point on mine before they get bolted to my bike since i never ran a set of 28's before and I am no jetting expert

PWK's are just worth the extra money in my eyes to have a separate idle screw and separate choke.

I talked to a builder and he doesnt care for PJ's because the Idle/choke circuits suck on them. And that the PWK's make more torque.. Im not saying those PJ's run bad. No one is saying that they dont run good. I just trust them. They both tell me to go 33PWK. They have never steered me wrong b4. I do appreciate all you guys PM ing me and letting me know about the sale. TY

PJ's dont come in 35mm they come in 34's

I have had both. I started out with PJ34's and ditched them for PWK33's. Best thing I could have done. Like said above the Idle adjustment and choak circuit sucks. They have a thick oval slide vs. the PWK's having the thinner D shaped slide. The PJ is just old technology.
