caddyman
Well, I rode a 06 Raptor 700, and was not at all impressed. Felt sluggish, and BIG. Then I rode a 08 YFZ........I bought the YFZ. It does feel short, I'll be getting a +2 stem, but it the power is incredible. And to be able to go from the Banshee and still feel like your on something with similar power and better handling is nice. YFZ will get my vote. Well fellas, it seems like this is more of a preference deal. I think I am leaning more towards a Raptor because of the size comfort and fuel injected. I've tried the YFZ and didn't like the vibration.
RollinRhino
The Raptor is a good open country hauler but they are hard as hell to ride on a track with. They feel like a tank. The YFz is a better all around quad but they take some getting used to.
ATVridinMaNiAc
if u trail ride more get a raptor, if you wanna hit the track more get a yfz, the raptors will last longer and have more torque, both are pretty equal in speed, the yfz likes to be revved like a 2 stroker and the raptor is more of a lower rpm torque monster, the raptor is also a little more comfortable to alot of people. if you know how to ride the raptors they will slowly pull ahead of a yfz 450, most people who ride raptors rev it too high before they shift and they are faster if u kinda short shift them.anybody would be happy with either one. brian
My brother has an 07 raptor. It is one badass machine. And its a dream to dune. Just a few mods and 82 rwhp on the dyno. (stock stroke and bore too) His bikes have always been slower than mine, but now his raptor keeps right up with my 4mil. In fact, now that he got the suspension set up right he gets better holeshots on me and I cant run him down. Guess I'm gonna have to go to a +6 swinger so I can get a better holeshot ! lol
differentstrokes
I personally like the ergos on the raptor a little better, the yfz is nice but feels like your sitting on top of the bike and the raptor tank gives you the feeling of being down in the bike. The raptor is definitely more of a trail bike, but the yfz handles business on the track.
craptorkiller
my dad has a 660r. (hence the name craptorkiller lol). its a good all around bike. i love the monsterous torque. it will pull you out of anything. all it has is a dg pipe and jetted. and its pretty fast too. im kinda small 5'7" 135. but i can fling it around pretty easy. i can tell its top heavy. but i think if it had +2 a arms and some good shocks it would it wouldnt be that bad. i havent had a chance to ride the yfz or 700. but being smaller i think i would like the yfz. i also wanna see what its like to ride with the fuel injection. differentstrokes
How would you compare the KTM to the two? The YFZ revs a little faster and has plenty of snap, but not near as much torque as the others. The KTM and Raptor pull wheelies like crazy! A friend up the road has an 07 Raptor 700SE and it's fairly close to the KTM as far as torque, but not as snappy and doesn't turn as well. The KTM definitely feels lighter and the center of gravity feels alot lower than the Raptor. The YFZ feels nice and low, but I don't like the feeling of slipping up on the tank when I get aggressive. The KTM is faster through all parts of the powerband than both of the others. I really like the Raptor for the money. On a side note, the same guy with the Raptor has an LTR and it sucks on the trails in stock form. This is probably because of the width and the mx tires, but I don't care to much for it. JasonsBanshee
I like the 700. Not a fan of the YFZ
