official_style Posted December 5, 2008 Report Share Posted December 5, 2008 i have an unopened case of 10w40 yamalube 4 oil, is it ok to run this in my banshees? i know the manual says 10w30, but is this ok to use, or should i see if i can get a dealer to swap it? Those contain friction modifiers that will not make your clutch real happy. If the oil is designed for a motorcycle it will work fine in the tranny. Diesel engine oil is great too. A lot of crotch rocket guys use that because it holds up and yields better oil analysis results than some of the leading motorcycle oils out there.
