steved83
hey whats up guys, yes im a newbie to the site and owning a banshee. i got a couple questions maybe you can help me out. i have a 94 banshee its got a cool head, pyramid reeds and spacers, the motor is already bored 0.50 over and im putting 0.80 sized pistons in it and getting the cylinders ported while its apart. what i was wondering is what size carbs to go with, some guy said to go with a couple mm's over stock which i think stock is 22mm so im looking at maybe a 28mm carbs but the guys at F.A.S.T Racing said i would be good with the 33 KEIHIN PWK carbs, i dont know if those would be too big. so i would like to get your guy's input on carb sizes to go with for my setup. thanks
docjcwatson
Heh. As soon as I heard about what you were going with and your mods already, I was going to suggest 33mm's. Also, if Jeff at F.A.S.T. is the one to port your cylinders, you should run what he tells you too. He has been doing this for a while and will surely be the one to tell you what works best with his portwork. After all. If you trust him to port your cylinders, why not trust his word on carb size? locogato11283
who is porting your cylinders? you should listen to FAST.
docjcwatson
Ok. Well if Jeff is not doing your portwork. Then go with what the guy who is doing your portwork is telling you. It just makes it simpler. Also, I would seriously recommend that you do have Jeff do your port work. I hear it is well worth the wait! Another thing before I forget. Boreing the cylinders is not where you get more power. It just opens up the cylinder so that more fuel and air can combust inside. Porting is where you will get the most power. You could have 80mm cylinders. If they aren't ported correctly, they are a very large paperweight.
