BansheeRider87
not that the dyno chart was real or anything anyway Looks like Paint in applications to me
Dick Wheels
not to be a dick, but according to that funny dyno chart you posted from angelfire, if you lost 1-2 hp now with taking out your packing like you said, you are back below peek horsepower of a stock banshee pipe...not that the dyno chart was real or anything anyway... exactly, i ride "trails" but they are mostly 4th gear wide open trails where a mid-top pipe is great I guess the point is, They are still better then stock and how many people really have a stock bike anyways...Not very many! The point of the "dyno chart" wasn't to show peak hp but to show that the curve of the pipe is much better then stock and proving that they are a cheap and good trail pipe that sounds good also. donkeypuncher
if i were you, id go with fmf gnarleys. and depending where you ride trails, id suggest the spark arrested turbine core II silencers. the gnarleys have great bottom and mid range power. also, when a pipe says gold series on it, it just means its nickel plated (doesnt mean the pipe is old). Snopczynski
also, when a pipe says gold series on it, it just means its nickel plated (doesnt mean the pipe is old). This isn't true, the sst comes in standard chrome and is stamped as a gold series pipe. Back when they made the torque/mx pipe, and then come out with the original gold series pipe. It only had one name and that was "Gold Series". That was how you identified that original pipe, everything they make now was a spin off from there. That was these pipes. FMF Gold Series i was talkin about the pipes that are currently bein sold new, not the old school ones. before the toomey site changed to powerbrokerz it explained the different finishes that pipes have, and said that when companies used nickel plating to finish their pipes they call it a gold series pipe. read the 3rd bullet in the description. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...com.microsoft:*
sheerider1026
if he wants a mx/woods pipe, i say you are all wrong.. he needs a 2 into 1 pipe for that.. we have one on the wifeys bike.. its a lot of fun to ride.. and still screams up top,,
Snopczynski
the 2 into 1 wont make a good trails pipe. It has to be kept up on the peak powerband to make power worth a damn.
Snopczynski
Like I said, the sst is standard in chrome new.
sheerider1026
the 2 into 1 pipe is excellent IMO.. has good usable power down low.. JMO
Dick Wheels
The DG's don't get enough credit IMO!
bbcmudtruck
I had fattys before the t5s, and I honestly think they are great all around pipe, perfect for trails. They came on quick and reved out good. Not to mention you can get a nice used chrome set for around $200. Snopczynski seems to know his shit when it comes to pipes though, maybe you should take his advice.
pittss1c
I will give some input on DG in the spring. I have them now and they pull pretty well down low with a 4 mil. I just got some fatties to try, so if everyone is right, I should see some more power. If not, I will post. the charts of what a pipe does to a stock motor are likely irrelevant to how they effect a built up motor. Mike
Snopczynski
the 2 into 1 pipe is excellent IMO.. has good usable power down low.. JMO I wish it were true, I tried to make that pipe work for two years. I just dont see it though. Endless rides and dyno testing proved it was pretty much a worthless pipe compared to anything else. Only way I could see it working better is if your exhaust port has been lowered. Even then a set of pc's or fmf gnarley pipes will more than likely still blow the doors off of it. A lot of guys praise it, and they do this because they have never ran another pipe that was worth a damn. Moving to pro circuits from a dynoport pipe was like a night and day difference. Tons more low and midrange power, lots more peak power, easy to keep on the pipe, and lots of torque backup for those sticky situations out on rides. Wildcardracing
Dick Wheels, I wish I had a spare set of FMF's Toomeys or PC's for you to try...I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be singing praises to DG anymore. Anything is an improvement over stock, but you'd be amazed how short your dg's fall of other pipes.
kodie
listen to snop... he nows a shit ton about pipes... I got pro circuits on mine and it hits hard can't wait till my 4 mil is done.
