jayzx10r
I just finished smoking a dozen 4fiddys up Olds Saturday night, parked, and saw my Banshee pissing oil out of the tube next to the radiator hose...near the water pump. I couldn't really troubleshoot on the hill under a sliver of moonlight, so I took the "ride of shame" (towed back to camp). Rode the blaster on Sunday so I actually didn't troubleshoot the motor 'till yesterday after talking to some of the guys in chat Sunday night.. I didn't know there were 2 vent tubes that are supposed to be connected together...mine weren't. Long story short...the rear vent tube plugged with sand. Heat/expansion caused pressure to blow oil out of that front vent...which was turned down venting to the ground. I had a nice puddle of oil going there!! Radiator was still full so I'm not gonna have to rebuild it....sweet. So thanks to everyone for info I couldn't find in my Original Yamaha Factory Manual. So I'm ready to ride again!!! Thinking the 12-14th at Buttercup.... jbooker82
That is the nice thing about the direct drive lockup cover. That vent is elimintated. How did you like those CPI's out in the sand?
