kdagenais
This thing is really making me feel stupid but here we go. Just rebuilt the topend and rode it about three times now so it has about 10 hours of ride time on it. Last time riding it it had a leak out the front of the case which thought was tranny oil but later found out the carb started leaking out the overflow. Believe what I actually seen leaking was really gas oil mix dumping into the crankcase. Well rebuilt the carbs today and after riding for 5 minutes the top end started making a screeching sound like it is dry (no oil). Currently running Caster 927 at 50.1 and starting to wonder if this oil is separating but I live in Florida and hasen't really been that cold here yet. Have maintained several 2 strokes before and never had the kind of issues I am having with this thing and it really is making me feel stupid. Anyway any help you can give me feel it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance!

' well first problem is your running 50 to 1 and not 32 to 1 (4 ounces of oil to a gallon) ... 50 to 1 is for weedwackers. could be some of the problem . Paddleboy
' well first problem is your running 50 to 1 and not 32 to 1 (4 ounces of oil to a gallon) ... 50 to 1 is for weedwackers. could be some of the problem . 40-1 is the leanest i would ever go with a shee but i run 32-1. i'd take the head off and check the cylinders for scoring
kdagenais
40-1 is the leanest i would ever go with a shee but i run 32-1. i'd take the head off and check the cylinders for scoring That is what I was figuring will pull the head of and see if it scared the cylinders. Checked compression and they both have 120psi even so that should be a good sign. Any recommendations as far as getting it lubricated again to get it going again. Starting to wonder about this oil as well for we use it in the weedeaters as well and two of them have seized but was able to get them going again after dumping oil in the cylinders and turning them back & forth until they turned over freely. If this isn't the problem what other things should I look for? Would the water pump impeller cause somthing like this?
