winter riding sucks!

Recommended Posts

i am all set with winter riding, had like the worst day! went to this spot i have ridden at a bunch of times during the spring summer with my 2 shees and the yfz450, unload, get the bikes to start, warming them up, im driving the 06 just in 1st gear real slow, and some stupid like enviornmental cop pulls up, and says you cant ride on state land, only snowmobiles, checks my vin, and gives me a summons for no helmet. i think they were patroling that area because its hunting season, i have never seen any cops or any of those enviornmental pigs in there before either. so load up, go to another spot, this place is much lower elevation, and instead of snowing it is pissing raining. its impossible to get the banshees started, finally get them started, and they both are running like shit, keep stalling, the trails are so wet and muddy we keep getting stuck and having to pull each other out. my boy ran my 97 thru this huge puddle, and then shut it off right after, it was a bitch to start it, and when i got it to run again, it was backfiring from the left cylinder like a mofo, the bottom of the t5 turned red, and now the chrome is discolored on that pipe. after a little while it went back to normal. plug on that side is fucked. fuck this winter shit, its too cold, my bikes are staying inside till the spring, and they will just get worked on and started up once a week. i also NEED to learn jetting, that is what i am going to start fucking around with now. i guess the first spot i went to i can only ride in spring/summer, too many enviornment cops out when its hunting season. he also said snowmobiles are allowed to ride there, but not ATVs. what the fuck is the difference?

well... environmentallists have been harrassin the sno-go community and thier limited ridding spots, but 90 percent of what they point out as an environmental impact is actually from dirtbike and foot traffic in high volume. if it were tracks, it would overlap, being 2.5 foot wide, not 10". and as far as they're concerned, dirt bike, quad, atv, same thing. in short, it's a blame game on our side of the war, :whoops: and sierra club sucks! :banghead: :wallbash: SCS racing motha!

if it was water you might want to stand it up on its rear grab bar, see if any water comes out. just remember to shut the gas off first.

i would also def. change the oil. if its milky then i would change it 2 or 3 times until it looks clean again.

you probably already did this but just in case you?

Its called after firing. Because you got water in the motor, you probably got the spark plug wet, and it wasn't sparking properly. All the kicking flooded the engine, and when it finally did fire, it had so much fuel getting into the cylinders, that the excess ended up in the exhaust and on fire. This after fire is pretty nasty. It is the number 1 killer of turbochargers, and can do a number to mild steel headers.

That will teach you to wear a helmet.

i always do when i ride, i wasnt wearing one because i was just going up and down the dirt road in 1st gear to warm the bike up enough to leave it running, then i had to do the next one, and then i had to get back in my truck and eat a sandwich, so i didnt really think i needed a helmet driving 5mph for like 100ft. i always wear a helmet and chest protector when i ride.
