donkeypuncher
im tryin to install the vforce 3 reeds on my banshee and i was wondering if you leave the plastic insert in the reeds when you install them?? and if you have to do any modifications to the intake its self like removing the rubber part of the intake that sticks in the stock reed cages. also, do you use a gasket between the reed and intake its self or just between the reeds and the cylinders? And also yes you have to cut the two rubber things off the stock intakes that stick down into to factory reed cages.
00tbanshee
cascade makes another insert that goes in the cages so its not restricked so much.i use them and they work great and are very cheap.not sure what is all done to your motor but if your just using stock carbs the ones you have will work fine

I've always put a gasket on both sides of the new reed cages, and put a lite coat of rtv. on both sides of each gasket. For the vf3's you need a total of four intake gaskets. Never had a problem. Wiz
If you are running stock carbs did you put the SYNC hose back between the carbs. that is prob. why it is not starting... Edited December 2, 2008 by Wiz
2001Stroker
If you are running stock carbs did you put the SYNC hose back between the carbs. that is prob. why it is not starting... You talking about the balance tube?
AKheathen
If you are running stock carbs did you put the SYNC hose back between the carbs. that is prob. why it is not starting... sync hose? is that the choke tube? make sure it has a good seal to the intake. did you have the carbs out, or just to the side? Wiz
it is actually the choke tube my bad. either way it is a common mistake with stock carbs to forget to attach it back between both stock carbs
donkeypuncher
sync hose? is that the choke tube? make sure it has a good seal to the intake. did you have the carbs out, or just to the side? all tubes/hoses and whatever else are connected between and to the carbs. and i didnt take the carbs completely out, i just had them set to the side. (hangin on the frame) i was wondering if maybe a slide in one of the carbs being stuck open could prevent it from starting?
Wiz
it's gotta be freakin simple, you really can't fuck up putting reeds in...I did not think anyway.... you have single filters? pull them off and look at the slides see if they are moving, also you can look atthe sight glass in the sides of the carbs to see if the slides are moving that way also. Did you turn the gas on?.....and most likely if one slide was stuck it would still start. Edited December 3, 2008 by Wiz
