ya i figured the shee would be better... was wonderin bout that cause i thought about getting a 250r to drag along side my shee... would it be worth the investment? i am thinkin that it would take alot more money to get it to keep up with an equally fast shee... but idk... would a shee still be faster if u were to build one of each on like say a 10,000 budget per bike?

You brought up this discussion on the HQ. Well definately the Banshee will always win. I've never owned an R,but all bets on the shee anyways.

haha ya i figured that it would be a little one sided, but ya never know there are people on here that prolly have a 250r kickin around... still not sure though if i want to invest in one, may just get another shee and try my hand at a turbo instead! are there any websites anywhere that would sell kits for a banshee that u guys know of???

if you dont have alot of turbo knowlege i wouldnt recommend it.try a noss kit way cheaper, takes up way less room and will give you the edge your looking for.

Not even close. But, a good built (and tuned) R with a good rider can hand someone their ass at the dune.

I think it would be fun to build a big single cylinder drag bike, but I probably never will.

WELL I GO TO GLAMIS ALOT AND I HAVE SMOKED MANY 250R EVEN WITH A 330 MOTOR IN IT UP OLDS HILL.I WAS OUT THERE FOR THANKSGIVING AND RACED A 330R AT THE SAND DRAGS AND THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE MY ASS AND BET HIM 3 OUT OF 3 RACE'S..FAST BUT WILL BEAT A MODED BANSHEE.. I HAVE A FULL RACE PORT COOL HEAD 19CC DOMES V FORCE 3 REEDS PRO DESIGN INTAKE ALBA INTAKE SPACERS 36MM CARBS 300 MAIN JETS K&N OPEN AIR BOX

For a 10K budget, you can build a banshee no R will touch on that same budget.

The R's are a great track and dune bike. For all out drag racing, unless you're building a purpose built bike for a particular class or cc size limits, I'd rather build a banshee. There are more out there drag racing, parts are more plentiful, and CHEAPER...

Im not going to completely agree with everyone here. There has been some huge gains in the honda word over the last 5 years. With all of the saber motors and other parts to make them have huge HP numbers. Where the problem lies is how much more money it takes to make the honda as fast as the banshee. I used to be a hard core Honda guy. Nothing but 250r based bikes! Most of them were setup for MX and Dunes. But that was before I really got into hillshooting and drag racing. My last honda was a ESR 330R motor. I thought it was really fast, and it was for a R, but when I kept getting my ass handed to me by stock cylinder drag banshee's, thats when I started doing the math. It was much cheaper to sell my R and pick up a banshee to mod, then it would have been to make my R fast enough to compete with the bikes of the time. Now this was around 7 years ago, but I have never looked back thinking I should have stuck with the Honda.

I raced a kid on his high horse about his "bad 330R" and layed an ass whoopin down. Real bad. They are fast bikes but when someone starts throwin some money into a shee they wake up ALOT

having owned a 330R and a 310R, they are quicker than a Banshee but not faster. single cylinder puts them for better torque but less horsepower. oh and i had the old school 250Rs, the ATCs. so they were lighter than the newer 250Rs that are quads. now the few friendly races i did i was ahead of banshees. until later down the road they could pass me. but i no longer own those hondas. instead i have two Banshees. i wonder why. haha.
