Titan up
I'm buying 21x12x8 extremes, I just don't know if I want 8, 9, or 10 paddles. I thought I was set on the 10's, until I got off the phone with a sand tire distributer. They recommended the 8 paddle, and said I wouldn't be able to keep the front end down with my swinger. The guy was very knowledgeable and ask me a lot of questions, so I'll prolly go with what he said. I loved the way my 20x10x10 reg 8 haulers duned, but I'm looking for some more bite for the hill I'd like to see how some others feel about this. I'm 210 lbs 4 mil cub 85hp? +4 swinger 50/50 dune/drag
burleybanshee
i'm 230 pounds, 4mil non cub about 70-75 hp. 21x12x8 haulers eight paddle. +4 swinger 50/50 duner/drag. If the sand is holding some moisture or coarser it will wheelie just fine when dragging through 1-3rd gear. In softer or drier sand it hooks but doesn't come up. I would run 8 extreme or 9 regulars if i was your weight and had a cub. The more paddles you put on the ground, the more it holds your motor back when your in the upper gears like hill shooting or long flats, motor doesn't rev out as fast. More paddles will give you better out of the hole.

FASTOYS
I think the 21x12x8 8pdl extreme is plenty of tire for a gas cub duner with 4 " over arm. Alot lighter carcass than your old 10" wheels! You could also talk to the guys at Fullerton Sand Sports for more info.
dajogejr
For light, sugar fluffy sand, I say 9 paddle, if the sand you ride in is heavier and more hard packed, I say 8 is fine on a 4 over swinger... 4 mil cubs on gas are no joke...80 plus HP EASY... and they hit like a ton of bricks. You'll have your hands full once it gets too much bite on a 4 over arm. Mine was a handful on 6 over... Keep in mind also...with an extreme, you'll get a little more bite than your haulers as well. The paddle height is the same, but the extreme are thicker and do not fold over as easily. Edited November 18, 2008 by dajogejr

burleybanshee
Was out riding thanksgiving week at Pismo. It rained tuesday and wednesday, sand held all that moisture. I couldn't keep the front down on the shee with a +4 swinger and those tires. Launching was impossible and second gear was also tough. Could have used a 6 or 8 swinger. good news ran against some 7mil cub and did real well holding my own against them, couldn't beat them but made a good showing. You will like those tires. Titan up
I ran my new 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes over the weekend (Gordons Well) and they hook up great! I had to take off in 1st or the bike would bog down in 2nd gear starts, unless I totally revved the shit out of it. The bike felt quicker every where and was carrying more speed up the hill too. The 20x10x10 would slide and fish tail around alot better, but I'd rather have the hook of the new tires. Now I know why I was sometimes getting beat by lesser bikes. Thanks fellas. I'm building my 421 Cub motor now. How you like it compared to your factory Yamaha cylinder set up 4mill? That's exactly what I had before I blasted the head clean off the jugs. I'm running 17cc domes on 110 or better. I'm still going to run the stock swinger... it was fun with my old motor cuz the front end would fly up out of the hole and fly by all the new 450 big bore guys and come down when I shut it down at the end of the strip. I'm excited, so give me a preview of what I'm in store for!
