docbones
I have a 421 Cheetah powervalve motor. 1.Everything is new in clutch including a Hinson basket. It is difficult putting into gear and getting neutral while running? Oh yea also a hydrolic clutch. 2.I had tranny sent to a shop in CT and they under cut I think every other gear polished all components and forged everything? I think that was it. The tranny is very hard to shift especially when under a load? Trans was like this before work was done also. I have heard of getting gears straight cut and also heard of a shift star mod??? What is needed to be done to get this tranny shifting smoothly? 3. I have 34mm Keihens, CPI bigbore pipes, V-force reeds. Jetting is CEL needle in middle clip, 150 mains and 50 pilots. The bike runs very well except while drag racing it seems to pull very well and then runs flat early in every gear especially 4th-6th?? Gearing is 14t-44t with 20" 9 paddle padlabrats +6 swingarm. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Doc

Wildcardracing
Agreed, I don't think your hydraulic clutch is disengaging your plates all of the way.
clinton588
I had the same issue with my 421. It was my springs, they were to heavy with a clutch lock out. I had to just put 3 stock, & 3 HD Barnett springs. Also check the space between the shift star and the shift arm, it should be even. As for the trany, if that's all you do is drag it I would just get an over ride trany.
docbones
Actually, if I can get this trans shifting smoothly..... I would rather convert back to a all around bike again. I had same problem with stock clutch cable set-up as well. Hydrolic set-up just went on.
