shogs
I was wondering what timing plate you guys think is the most affordable and best to get. I don't think theres one really better than the other but just making sure there's any brands to steer clear of. Also the screws I have in my left case are old and strip very easy so I was wondering if you guys know where to get any stronger ones specifically for that case? Thanks
05.Banshee.SE
Chariot billet aluminums (not cast) go for $49 on Ebay. If not... Pro Design stuff seems pretty good. I personally don't have one yet, but I think I'm going to order the Chariot one because of the price. I'd be interested in what these other guys say for sure. 2001Stroker
I have a ProDesign. Those and Chariot are both billet aluminum, and probably not much better than one another. Stay away from the cast ones. If I could go back, I would've just gotten a Chariot and saved $50. They're pretty much the same exact thing. It doesn't need to be strong or resist any force. There is no bling factor since it can't be seen. As far as I am concerned a cast one is better then a billet one simply because it is cheaper and serves the exact same purpose equally as well. 2001Stroker
Read around on here. LOTS of complaints about the R/S cast timing plate. Search it. I never had one, but with the reveiws people on here have given them, I wouldn't waste my money.
Wildcardracing
I've never had any problems with my Ricky Stator cast timing plate, or the countless numbers of modified (cast) stockers that I have done over the years. If you all want to pay more than twice as much for the billet ones then be my guest, I'd rather put that $45-$50 to better use elsewhere. bansheejoel
In your title you say the "best timing plate" Cast plates arnt the best, but just work fine. IMO billet is the way to go. Others say spend the money elsewhere, really its just what gives you most peace of mind.
