banshee909
so heres my story i was ridding the shee down the road to my friends when the chain came off pulled over put it back on started to go again and i heard a nasty squealing noise so i went really slow in first and it felt like every half turn of the wheels someone was hitting the rear brakes got to my friends house about 1 minutes after this happend (like 1/8 mile away from his house) and put it up on a jackthe axle was cocked closer to the frame on the side with the sproket so i figured my bearings are shot which they are so i ordered new bearings just started the rip down today and when i got the sproket hub away from the carrier i noticed it got sort of chewed up doesn look to major but deffintly can see a diffrence then what it should be should i buy a new carrier? or will this one work just fine. i sure hope so
dragbanshee
As long as it didnt get to the end of your carrier where the bearings go in and your sprocket holder slides up to it, you should be fine.

bansheevirgin
sounds like what happened to me on my craptor. it took me almost 2 hours to get the axle out of the carrier. If the housing is chewed up that bad the bearing may be cocked in the bore of the carrier. keep trying it should come out. Sometimes going easy with it works better than beating the hell out of it. Good luck.
regalrocket
Sounds like a spacer crimp. The bearings get loose in there, and get stuck between the carrier and the spacer, and they roll in groves. In doing so, they can crimp the spacer onto the axle. It will come out, but it might have the seal and the bearing from the brake side on the axle with the space, and you can get those off after its out. I would apply some heat to the carrier in the brake side bearing area, to help get the carrier off of the bearing.
banshee909
bearings put in axle back in everything went smoothe in the install after the axle was out there was balls rolling around everywhere lol not goo but everythings almost back together except the bolt that holds the hub on wont go on cuz when me and my dad where hitting it with a board over it my dad hit the bolt dead on messed the threads up so hes grabbing a tap from work hopefully we will be allset i cant wait to get ridding again!!!!! 2001Stroker
I just did mine today, too. I put both wheel nuts on the left side threads to keep that from happening. Yea, just grab a die and chase the threads. Hopefully it didn't mess it up too bad. Read the last post, and see how much of a fun time I had. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=103451&hl=

But yea, I beat on it from 10:00 this morning until about 3:00 this afternoon. That's when I finally got a hold of my brother. Bastard wouldn't answer his phone. I guess hangover sleep was more important.
