Recommended Posts

this may be off the banshee topic, but i have a friend who owns this dirtbike and we cannot seem to find any parts for the bike anywhere... the engine needs to be completly rebuilt, the coolant competly drained into the oil and mixed inside the engine after a ride and ceazed the piston... is it even worth fixing??? if i could get some help from someone that would be great... thanks

Parts are very hard to find for those bikes, especially engine parts. I had a old 77 ktm 420, and it was made when Penton owned em. when the 2 companies split they auctioned off all the parts. Luckily, The 80 year old man who had bought it all had the parts I needed in his barn. Only took me a year to find a "useable" piston and rings!!! But get on some vintage dirtbike forums, and ask around. AHRMA would be your best bet....

I guess the WR 250 has the same piston as the CR 250 model, shouldn't be a problem to find. I even think wiseco makes new pistons for those.

I've got the cr430 and cr500 and w
