2001Stroker Posted November 2, 2008 Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 If you have a mechanic's stethoscope, see if you can pin-point it. If not, just use a 3/8" really long extension, and stick one end in your ear and the other end all over the engine until you find the noise. I have a loud knock coming from both sides of my intake. Not the reeds, carbs, or the jug, but the intake. Originally, I thought it was a rod knock. But there isn't any noise in the rotating assembly. I can't figure out why it makes that noise, but it won't go away. It's hard to ignore, but I still ride the piss out of it. My engine started making that noise about 5 hours into the break-in.
