yamaha_rider619
i just replace the cylinders, pistons, carbs(with a set of used ones in good condition), and put individual k&ns on. This banshee started right up and ran just fine but only exhaust came out of one side. The engine sounded fine and ran good but there was no exhuast out the left side. Also the right side a good amount of white exhaust and the carburetor was leaking a lot of fuel from the overflow from the flowbowls. The carbs also look to be in sinc. Maybe the carbs just need cleaned? Can anyone help?
locogato11283
the float in the carb is either stuck or not adjusted properly. youre gonna have to pull the right side carb off and check it. so theres nothing coming out of the left exhaust? 2001Stroker
What he said. Plus you need to get them sync'd, fo sho. I pulled mine off, and somehow got them way outta sync, and it did the same thing. No exhaust out of one side. Sounded like both sides were running, but no smoke. When you put a load on it, it ran like shit on top end too. Sync'd them, and ran great. Got smoke out both sides.

Sounds like the problem is in your carb. I've had the same exact problem...well, my left side was weak. Left carb slide was a bit off, and my throttle cable was f'ed up. 30 mins cleaning up carbs, and tuning it had the Shee running sweet again. yamaha_rider619
Turned out the left carburetor just needed a little cleaning and a jump start with some cleaning fluid, then it worked just fine. The part about the exhaust not coming out the left side was because the left carb was barley running and there was a cut in the exhaust clamp which let a lot of exhaust out.
