96SilverlakeShee
Well ive had a 2 stroke for years and always rode with mostly friends. To say the least, friendly circles break apart as years pass and i have no exceptional place to ride unless i drive more than 2 hours north to silver lake/white pigeon/ baldwin area. Does anyone know of any where to ride in southwest michigan ? I live in Kalamazoo michigan so northern Indiana is fine as well. Granted my wife comes some of the time and is a novice. bronco91shee
those are the 2 big places i know as well. have been riding for 20 years as well. i grew up north of gr. now live in detroit. teh best suggestion i have is to go on the mi.gov website and look up the legal trails nad stuff. i dont beleive there is anything close to you. but i suppose you could check in.gov as well. i know the mounds are near by me, over here. and there are lots of trails in big rapids, where i lived for a bit-but not legal. its sad we dont have more legal places to ride. i guess i was lucky growin up in the coutry and riding the farmers fields and whatnot. but the legal choice is only one you can make. im not a fan of being illegal, and certainly against trespassing. but public land is fair game in my eyes. sorry i prolly didnt help, but those websites might give you insight. otherwise , i know my local stealership sells an actual book on all legal trails for all differnt activities. thats another route, if you didnt already know about it. also search preicate stuff. it seems the more i look, the more i find private tracks and land that will let you ride for a daily fee. best of luck
Badapwned
I live in Monroe, south of Detroit. You say you know where there are places to ride?
dajogejr
DNR website is the best place to find legal areas. Bull gap, Mt Morris, silver Lake, Gladwin are the norm spots. There is a place by Cadillac that is AWESOME...big trail loops... St. Helen is another... But if you're asking for a close by, legal area...good luck. The jackasses that rip up and down public roads with no helmet, etc., have ruined it for us....running from the police, kid shit like that. Does anyone know of any where to ride in southwest michigan ? I live in Kalamazoo michigan so northern Indiana is fine as well. Granted my wife comes some of the time and is a novice. i was born in kalamazoo and lived in battle creek for several years.i live in texas now.back in the 70's when i was riding in michigan you could pretty much ride from town to town on trails.the fact of the matter is there are fewer and fewer places to ride as time goes by.even here in texas there are fewer places to ride than when i moved here in 1981.and most of the places i used to ride have gotten smaller or you cant ride there any more.where i ride most of the time is on my property or go to the local rivers and ride sand bars etc.i used to ride at fort custer in battle creek level park area years ago but i dont know if you can any more.there used to be a bunch of trails there like big tex off uldrics drive etc.havent been there in years but there used to be a bunch of places to ride.theres always silver lakes but youll have a drive a minute.seems like all the real good places to ride was in northern michigan though.i have family that lives in kalamazoo and paw paw i will check with them to see where they ride.they do sleds though for the most part. I live in white pigeon/Union area down here. We have 6 banshees in our group that are also looking for places to ride. Where do you/ have you ridden in the white pigeon area? Good to know others are around over here on the southwest side!

Badapwned
I was just at the Little O and Big O loop trails. I would venture to say it was some the most fun places to ride. I would compare it to silver lake. Its about an hour away from silver lake. I went up there two weeks ago, they closed silver lake on a Friday, Bast*rds. Anyways, they are some fuuun trails. If anyone is in SE MI, I usually go to this place on exit 9 on 23. This guy owns about 10 acres with a pond and stuff, give him 5 bucks and its a cool place to ride.
