Dajl Posted October 24, 2008 Report Share Posted October 24, 2008 Hey guys, im piecing this old wreck apart for a complete and i ran into the rear hubs having play in them.... im guessing this isn't normal and i was wondering if anyone on here has encountered this issue and resolved it. Handyman Posted October 24, 2008 Report Share Posted October 24, 2008 I have this issue with mine but only on the drive side. But then again it could be from my wreck where it flipped and landed on that side. The hub looks good but the axle is where the wearing started...I'm also running a cheetah powervalve motor on it as well and that might something to do with it....I'd say buy a new axle and a new hub and go from there. jharader Posted October 24, 2008 Report Share Posted October 24, 2008 take the nut off and try to rotate the hub on the splines. if it moves, take it off and inspect the splines. if you run them loose they have a tendency to wear out. if theres not a noticeable amount of wear put some anti-seize on there and give her hell with a breakover.your asking for trouble running them with slack though, good way to lose a wheel.
