CA18NA
Hi all I am new to the forums. Im from Perth, Western Australia I have just bought a 2004 Limited Edition 'shee with K&N filter w/outerwears, boost bottle, Platinum Pro Circuit pipes and jetted to suit but it seems to have a flat spot in the lower RPM range. It hits like a hammer from mid range onward but it feels like there is a flat spot down low Is there anything i should check or anything i need to buy to fix it
THE GRIM RIPPER
Good day MAte! Do some research on jetting.... Use the search feature on the bottem of the screen. Learn how to read your plugs, and go from there
SandRageShee
the most i can say is get a +4 timing plate some fmf fatty's a 13 tooth front sprocket and a 42 on the rear with some 20-10-10 razr's and you got some low end.thats the setup i have and its a LOT of low end
05.Banshee.SE
Get rid of the boost bottle... and get a head and domes. If you have TORS, ditch it.

acfine
Welcome! Lose the boost bottle, you'll just get problems from it, and no gain from it either. Next, seat the Pilot air screws, and then back them out to 1.5 turns and try that. Do this on both carbs of course. This scenario is exactly what my buddy's 'shee was doing, and after about 15 minutes of tweaking the Pilot air screws, the low end was back to strong as hell... Good luck, Anthony
Snopczynski
If you want bottom end, those pc's are the best pipes for the job. You need to make sure your jetting is correct.
CA18NA
Thanks for all your help guys I bought a set of Boyesen reeds yesterday and fitted them and the bike ran like a pile of junk. I found that the balance pipe between the two carbs had come off. I hooked that back up and that fixed it a little but after a while it got worse and worse. I ended up taking the carbs off and i found out that they were full of sand. I must have disturbed the sand that was inside them when i put the reeds in. I took the carbs apart and cleaned out the hand full of sand that was in there blocking up the pilot jet. Put it all back together and it runs like a champ. It is still a tiny bit rich but i dont mind that just to be on the safe side. It is still a little flat down the bottom (compared to my brothers 'shee which has the same mods except FMF pipes) so i will look into a +4 timing plate to fix that up. 2001Stroker
2-Stroke are gonna be a little weak on the bottom end. If you go up on your compression, it will give you more bottom end. But in turn, you will lose a little top end. Get a NOSS, ProDesign, or any similar head with removable domes. Play with different size domes until you get it right. Remember, each time you change the compression, you're gonna need to change the jetting and timing to match. Good luck.

You shouldnt have to change your jetting after a compression change necessarily...... Just sayin

Just trying to give him another option. Plus, I'm sure he would like the benefits that he would get from a cool head. Not to mention, I like the polished look. Makes the bike faster. lol. Snopczynski
Instead of putting a plus 4 timing plate on it, why dont you adjust the jetting instead?
LS1Inferno
Instead of putting a plus 4 timing plate on it, why dont you adjust the jetting instead? because the +4 gives a BIG boost on the low end power. my brothers iwht Fattys and +4 even with stock compression has almost 4pokish tq on the bottom its sweet. Get used to messing with jetting we went riding today, early in the moringin like 58 degrees bikes ran somewhat lean, BUT by the afternoon they were almost rich. 88 degrees. I HATE the desert.
