twillz08
I am new to the quad world and was looking at buying a quad but i really did not want a 4 stroke i grew up riding 2 stroke bikes i just love the powerband. I did some reading about the banshee and tons of people say it sucks for trails, is this true or could it be there just not use to the 2 stoke style i mean i could ride trails all day on my CR125 and it was great. also how long do they last before they need to be rebuilt if they are cared for? second would it be worth buying this banshee-- one more thing it has a +6 Swinger how will this affect the handling and Ability to ride on trails, how hard would it be to go back to a stock swing arm. the Mods are as followed Asking 3k CHASSIS- Stretched swingarm 6" Widened 4" with A-arms and axle "Armadillo" chromoly A-arms WORKS remote res shocks Lone star x-caliber adjustable rear axle Braided brake lines Swing-arm and frame skid plates ITP Baja wheels Holeshot mx tires DG nerfs, bumper and grab bar MSR bars new clutch cable new front wheel bearings CEET brand seat cover FULL BORE racing plastic Pro-design teather ENGINE- the motor is on its second tank of fuel at the moment running klotz oil Wiseco hot rods crank and rods Wiseco pro-lite pistons and rings light port work pro-design cool head w/ 21 cc domes V-force reeds reed spacers lone star 2 into 1 carb base PKW carb KN filter Adjustable timing plate FMF fatty pipes (no dents) New trans main shaft with all new clutch components and heavy duty barnett clutch with roller throw out upgrade. Wildcardracing
If you shortened it up a bit, it would be fine for trails. The +6 is a little long for tighter trails, but with the engine work listed you could easily get away with a +2 or even a stock swingam. The FMF's are a great trail pipe. A lot of how it performs will depend on how the portwork was done and if it was matched to the pipes. As far as reliability, again that will depend largely on the work done in the cylinders (if the builder chamfered the ports correctly, the exhuast port roof is rounded, the exhaust ports are not too wide and the piston-cylinder clearance is good) and how well it is or has been maintained. I've seen banshees run reliably for years and other run good for a day. Other than the swinger, the rest of the mods are pretty much trail mods.
