acfine
From what I understand, the timing plate isn't seen, so what is the advantage with going with a high dollar billet timing plate? Is the Ricky Stator timing plate woth a da*m? I've read a couple of negative threads about Ricky Stator parts, but none specifically about the timing plate? Which one do you guys prefer? What else could I do to get a noticable power increase? The timing plate, and set it at +4? Anything else bolt-on that will add a good amount of power? ChippewaTSI94
The Ricky Stator plate is a cast piece. I've seen several with stripped out threads for the screws. Honestly, I'm not impressed with anything RS makes. Chariot Racing makes a billet aluminum plate for right around the same price. Excellent quality. TORQUEDFORD
Thanks for the info man...I had the same feeling about it being cast... I just put a Chariot perf. timing plate on my Banshee a few months ago, it was a very nice part, nice looking etc. I set mine at about 5deg. The instructions seemed a bit vague for setting the gap for the pick up, but I got more info on that from this site.
dajogejr
I've had a RS plate for years. They work. But for 15 bucks more (35 plus shipping for the RS plate, 50 plus shipping via Ebay for the Chariot part) I'll be buying a Chariot plate once I tear down my motor for the winter and freshen it up. After going through 2 stators in 2 years from RS...I will never buy anything from there again....period. I have the Chariot head, and it works as good as it looks... sinisterboo
send us a pic of your grab bar after you put that timing plate at 4 degrees. I love watching people ride for the first time with a little timing. when i first got my plate my bike was just piped, and it felt sweet. Now if we could just find you a set of CPI's..........
