shee4speed
everytime I go to a local guy around Phoenix they fucking rip you off.At least thats how I feel. Now I've never dealt with D&M or Hall but thats how I feel.I sent my parts to HJR and put the mods on myself, also bought some stuff from FAST and saved a ton of $$.Don't go to RATV,they wanted 120.00 for pods on stock carbs.I could imagine what they get for port work and stuff.Where you at in Phoenix anyway? shee4speed
I had my jugs ported by HJR and the bike flat rips.HJR has a great reputation and highly recommended. You live far East huh,There are some shops in Mesa But I've never experienced any of them.If your willing to do work on your bike yourself send the parts to HJR for quick return.Or you can send him the whole motor, either way Kevin will get you going. bansheevirgin
Thanks for the help shee4speed. Is HJR a machine shop only? Do they sell components like cubs?
'04limited
d&m does really good work but they are kinda pricey makes some sick bikes though and has a in house dyno, also there is banshee shack out in mesa that does good work but again they are pricey. i think that your best bet would be either send your cylinders out to hjr or buy a set of cubs from him kevin's a great guy and does some outstanding work and will always go out of his way to help you out and he has an awesome turnaround time. www.herrjugsracing.com on another note i have never had any problems with ratv they can be more expensive than some places on some things but they also do have some really good deals and always has banshee parts in stock. shee4speed
I can't say that i've ever had problems with RATV,they just charge out the ass for shit and then tell you its stolen if you get it cheaper. pisses me off!
fastbanshee199
I can't say that i've ever had problems with RATV,they just charge out the ass for shit and then tell you its stolen if you get it cheaper. pisses me off! +2. ratv is way over priced. i just called for pricing on a port job mx/trail style and they wanted 400 plus boring my cylinders for 90 bucks. im doing a top end rebuild and they want like 240 for the top end kit plus some crap. no thanks. im sending mine to kevin at HJR. they also told me it didnt matter what pipes i had on the bike either. they charged me 120 for stock carb kn pods and 110 for a damn tors elim kit! r/atvshee
R/atv is quite expensive. There's D&M, Clown Racing, Ohton Racing, Duners Atv, Insane Racing and a few others that I'm forgetting. The only person I've dealt with is Brian at Clown Racing some might think his prices are a bit high, but he knows how to build his motors very well. Koolguyson
There are some decent builders in that area, but D&M is top 8 in the country when it comes to getting the most hp out of a motor.
donkeypuncher
+1 for HJR. and yes, he sells cub cylinders. http://www.herrjugsracing.com/Product_List.html There are some decent builders in that area, but D&M is top 8 in the country when it comes to getting the most hp out of a motor. "most hp" is only good if its usable power.
1banshee1
I would go with either HJR or F.A.S.T. they are awesome people to do business with and are among the best. Ohh and F.A.S.T. is located in Holton, KS
Titan up
Kevin Herr would be my choice too. I made the 5 HR drive from PHX to personally meet Kevin and drop off my cylinder for him to port. He's a super nice guy and the most down to earth person I've talked with in this business. If you want to stay local, Jim at Insane Racing would probably be my choice.. I've met and talked with Jim a couple times out at the ET drags and I got a pretty good vibe from him. Stay away from OHTON RACING!! I had a horrible expierence with him that wound up in small claims court, which I ended up winning the judgement. The guy runs a ponzi scheme. jay793
Jerry Hall with Hall performance is a very smart guy. He does outstanding work and is not over priced.he also has a dyno in house and can tell you exactly how much horsepower you will have before he even finishes it. He doesent have a website or anything like that, but if you want his # pm me and ill get it for you.
