wayfast1500
As Im sure you guys know from my last topic, my shee died randomly while riding, turned out to be the stator. I replaced the stator with a new one, new coil, new cdi, and checked all the wires and I still dont have a spark? I have no idea what else to check its all new, and what wasnt new was tested. Anyone have any suggestions, the switches are all working, pick up coil was set, new fly wheel I have no idea what else it could be. Also tors was removed so it isnt that. gumby6t9
Did you replace the pick up coil? You said you set it but didn't say if you replaced it... Check this out too... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html

Check this out too... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html Didnt replace it, but I did test it it is good. I have no clue what to do with this anymore I replaced/fixed/tested everything I could think of plus what was on that site and nothing is wrong that I could see. Im ready to just make my own wiring harness and see what happens.
travis6767
if it comes down to it you might have to take the wiring harness apart and ohm out every single wire that goes to the stator , the cdi . the coil, i may just be a connector did you check all of them?, and maybe use a little dielectric grease on the connections to help them

f4istunna
I bought a brand new CDI last week, it came in DOA. I have another one coming this week. Read my post banshee build gone bad. I had the same thing happen to me in the past on a 400ex i had back in 00 or 01. Bought new cdi, coil and im pretty sure stator at the time. Still nothing. Took awhile and lots of frustration but ended up finding out the new cdi was shit. ITs rare but might want to check it out before you pull all your hair out lol. Good luck
Snopczynski
I can think of maybe one last cdi I have seen go bad in the last 16 years of working on Banshees. Not a likely suspect, especially 2 of them in a row. If you order one because your bike wont start and it still doesn't start with the new one, the cdi is not the problem. For you to tell us you checked everything doesn't necessarily mean you checked everything right. Where are you located?
wayfast1500
The old CDI didnt go, I bought a parts lot with a brand new one still in the box so I put it in. I have about 4 CDIs so Ill switch it out again. I checked everything with a multimeter using the clymer and tech article as a guide.

wayfast1500
Checked all switches and wiring. Caps were switched with 1 brand new set and 2 used sets. I was kicking it in the dark today and noticed arcing off the frame, I couldnt pin point where it was from but im thinking its a short or loose ground. I gotta go through all the wiring and just make sure everything is to a tee with the book. The P.O hacked the wiring but it ran so I think I need to rewire it the right way. wayfast1500
I was playing around with the ohm meter, found a short in one of the yellow wires. I tore the harness apart fixed about 15 potential issues I found, some p.o hacked that harness bad, grounds put in where they shouldnt be ect. Im surprised it ran, put the harness back in and she fired right up. I just have a few small things do to and its good to go!
