jharader Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Going through a motor for a friend and ran into these, it has (1.00) stamped on the top, i dont have my bore gauges to check them (at work) ill mic the plate tommorow looks like .015 to .020, doesnt look like a wiseco to me what is it and why is this spacer on the bottom of the jugs? the jugs are stock no porting with a factory head that hasnt been shaved. vitos maybe? rod is stock length as well. tell me what ya think Edited September 22, 2008 by jharader Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Misssppelllleddd Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 If there is a spacer at the bottom then most likely (like 99%) you have a stroker crank. I dunno why you would have a spacer plate without one unless the deck and/or base has been modified. Probably a +4mil. 1.00 usually means that your pistons are for a bore of 1mm over stock. I would have to guess that maybe the crank has been replaced with a long rod crank and pistons for the short rod crank were used. trex banshee Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 looks like to me its vitos parts....that spacer is for the added stroke and yes the crank will look relatively stock, they run stock rods on them, yours are according to the numbers on the rod. What he said was true and COULD HAPPEN. Long rod crank (5mm long con rod) with STANDARD not 795 series piston would cause the piston to come up 5mm out of the bore. Then put a 5mm spacer plate under the cylinders so the pistons dont pop 5 mm out of the bore. Is that what this guy has. Probably not. That isnt a 5 mm spacer plate. Nor is that a very good idea to build a motor with any way. it would jack the port timings way up. I would be looking for a 4 mill stroker crank. Just a thought. yeah i hear ya now, i kinda missread your post when you said that would put the piston out the top of the cylinder, i thought you said it would put the piston at the top of the cylinder thats why i said it didn't make sense. but yeah like booker said not very likely someone is gonna put a 5mm spacer under the cylinders. my vote is still on the vitos 4mm stroker stock rods Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

desertdeweller Posted September 23, 2008 Report Share Posted September 23, 2008 with the shim only being .015 to .020 thats roughly .39mm. maybe the cylinders were overheated and they had the jugs milled. They could have then used the plate to make up the difference. So you may need to replace the cylinders in order restore the propper height. gregrob Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 they look like 795 pistons. Probably put that spacer in there as a cheap way to lower the compression. I always lmao when I see people say the "long rod" increases displacement, or otherwise changes ANYTHING other than the rod angle. The stroke is determined by the crank, not the rods. If you put a +5mm long rod, stock stroke crank in a stock bike, with stock bore size how exactly do you have more than 350cc's?
