mofoka
Has anyone seen a lift kit similar to this for the Banshee? http://cgi.ebay.ca/2005-UP-Kawasaki-Brute-...1QQcmdZViewItem I want more clearance and before I try to swap out my suspension with a craptor I was hoping something like this could be a good alternative. Has anyone jacked up their shee? Or can anyone see a flaw in this idea?

Be safe, stay away from those type kits for a banshee.

I agree. If you wanted to you can adjust Elkas or Works out pretty damn far, and it will lift the front end quite a bit. The stock rear or any aftermarket rear also has a low of adjustment in it too. Ive never needed more then that, unless your doing some reall gnarly shit.

I'm just trying setup my ghetto rig without breaking the broken bank. Besides spending 400+ to increase the overall ride hight does anyone have a suggestion? (I'm already running 22"s on the back and 23"s up front.)
Michael Jackson
a lift kit for a banshee?!? now ive heard it all, haha if you have 23s up front and 22s in back and still nto enough grounde clearance, you need to find a new place to ride, figure out how to put your tires on the tallest rocks, find a new place to ride, get a utility quad, or maybe find a new place to ride! what fun is a banshee is your riding somewhere that you have to creep over massive rocks all day!!? desertdeweller
your swing arm is the lowest point a lift won`t help you at all for clearance over rocks. But I know what you mean some of the desert races I have run I have ripped new skid plates off on the first lap. I don`t even run them anymore they turned out to be a waiste of money. I smack the disc and sprocket hard sometimes, so far I have only damaged one disk bad enough to replace it.

This is a newer rear shock and I'm still not impressed, so I don't want to put money in one place and then put even more in the same place in a few months. The biggest thing I'm trying to decide is to either take the stock rear shock, (which is weak) and rebuild it. Or try a different configuration that may give me more travel or a higher seat position. I heard of one ghetto trick for more clearance is to move the lower shock mount 1-1.25 inches forward. And I've seen the raptor rear shock and was thinking since it is an inch or so longer that would help with my rear stance. Anyone seen or tried any of these options? Or have a suggestion on an alternative that isn't expensive?
desertdeweller
well you might be able to go with a longer shock off a different bike not sure if or what would fit. moving the lower shock mount forward will also change the leverage ratio, in relation to how the swing arm moves the shock. I think that would cause it to soften up even more all though you may gain some height. The lower mounting point on the raptor is different and won`t fit the banshee. I seen a guy who converted his banshee to a no link system it was pretty nice. but he was still in the trial faze of it so I don`t know how it worked out for him. it was actually his first time out on it. 05.Banshee.SE
Lift kit for a Banshee? The only lift kit I put on is Toomeys, Pods, Coolhead, Domes, Reeds, etc... Now I can lift my front tires off the ground really well! That's the only lifting Banshees should do.
