From Stock, to Sick: My Banshee Journey

I wanted to put this up, well, mostly because I'm bored, and because I only get to do this once (at least for a while). This is basically a thread of my journey of turning my stock 2005 Banshee Special Edition into the custom bike I want it to be. Fast, clean, the works basically.

Here is a picture or two of her the day I got her:

"Day 2:"

I have majority of the parts I'm going to do at once...I'm waiting for the exhaust to get in, because that's what I want to start with. I also have to order the jets and an adjustable timing plate.

I didn't do to much...pretty much just broke the bike down. The last time I rode it before today, I had a rough outing at the track and it was almost bye bye Banshee. I inspected the cooling system for damage, since that was the cause of my problem. I warmed it up, and did a compression test, which came out to be about 100 PSI on each cylinder. I'm going to need a rebuild soon.

I just remembered I'm going to need new plugs too...and 2 carb rebuilding kits.

I took off most of the plastics to make it easier for me to get to the motor and do work.

I tried to clean her up a bit, I don't like working on dirty things.

I touched up some of the wires by adding electrical tape to help protect them where there wasn't any. I cleaned out the silencers, I have no idea why, since they are coming off.

I took off all the parts I'm getting powder coated. Hopefully I can get them done soon.
