nvrhapy
hey guys i have a unique setup and hoping u can help i have a lifted golf cart with banshee lower a arms and front shocks my problem is the suspension is very stiff not much travel at all, i have adjusted the shocks to the softest setting already and not much has changed. can any one tell me what the spring rate on these shocks are? or any opinions on these shocks or my setup, any help would be great thanks here is some pics
bbcmudtruck
Looks pretty cool. Try a different pair of shocks off of a smaller four wheeler. I know the 300ex shocks are a hell of alot softer, but they also have less travel and are about 2" shorter.
lilmegill727
that looks cool. try blaster shocks
hercalmighty
It looks like you have the shocks on the hardest setting in the pics. Did you make this set up yourself?
Michael Jackson
yea those shocks are on the stiffest setting in the pics either way, they suck, bad and blaster shocks are even worse
ban99
hard to tell exactly off of a picture but it looks as though the axle is ridged with no piveting spindals which in my opinion would be the problem. With the current set-up the only way to compress the suspension is to force the tires to slide outward acros the pavement. If you want to do it right get a used set of banshee or blaster a-arms off e-bay (uppers as well as lowers)plus the spindals and hubs. nvrhapy
i did not do this setup i bought the cart with it setup this way, im just trying to improve on it. wasnt sure if just switching out the springs would work to soften it up and to give it more travel or if doing a double a arm set up would solve the problem. so these shocks are garbage? i did adjust the shocks to the softest setting this picture was taken before the change though. atvfreestylekid
If you could get some banshee arms or somthing with the mounting hole closer to the middle of the arm, It will lift it as well as make it ride smoother. nvrhapy
hey freestyle kid what exactly do you mean? i posted this same question on a couple other forums and got a somewhat similiar reply about moving the shock location inward more i tried relocating the upper mount to see if it helped and didnt notice much difference but didnt move the lower shock mount in closer. here is a pic of the upper mount moved in closer should i leave it and move the lower one in more is this what you mean
nvrhapy
also what is the travel on these banshee shocks?
hercalmighty
You need to move the lower mounts in so that 1. you get more leverage from the arm working on the sock 2. that will give you more travel from the arms
nvrhapy
should i keep a slight angle to teh shock or have it so its straight up and down
