I finaly broke down and got a longer swingarm. Thinking about getting a works shock to go with the +4 swinger. I was wondering if anyone is running this set up. If so how do you like it. Works shock is $750 and Elka is $890. Any imput is appreciated.

i have ran works for 4 years now and love them. ive never used elka but some of my buddies have and the shocks didnt last long, they were very unhappy and got rid of them. but you have proplems with allomst anything now adays. works can do a heart transplant for like 3-400 bucks, another buddy of mine had one done for his craptor and it rode nice. the guy i talked to at works said the banshee has a decent shock, they just revalve and put a different spring.

Thanks for the info. I am kinda leaning toward the Works. I have them on the front and like them. The only bad thing about having my stock one revalved is the down time. September and October are my favorite ride months. I wish I kept some of my old rear shocks.

I am more of a fan of Elka than I am of Works for the simple reason that Works's service is horrible. If you have a bunch of money to spend, then Elka is a better choice. If you don't have a bunch of money to spend, then having TCS rework your OEM rear shock is a better choice.

If it were me doing several bikes all over again, then I would probably go with a TCS reworked OEM rear shock over the Works option. :geek:

What he said. Mine is a TCS rebuild and it rides real nice. Firehead might know something about it  It responds well to adjustments. If you go up a few clicks on the rebound it changes quick and was easy for me to get dialed in. I say go with a rebuilt. Find yourself a used rear one on ebay for 50-60 bux and send it in so you can still ride till you get your rebuilt back.

I run Works front and back, their service was great when getting them re-valved and re-sprung. My bike rides awesome for half the price of Elka and has been doing so for over 6 years trouble free (on the suspension that is).
Yea. I went with the Works rear, valved for +4 and my weight. Very happy with it. Cant wait to use it again soon.
