pweezy42
so if a cylinder was 64.60 and needed honed what would it be after honed .60 over? im still new to this my bike blew up for the first time and it was 50 over each cylinder so im looking for new ones, iwas thinking about a vito 404 big bore kit but i dont know what i would need . plus one of my 17cc domes got mangled when the ring went
locogato11283
that vitos big bore kit is worthless.. stay away from it. just have your cylinders bored to the next size up.. do you have a shop that you use?
Bansh-eman
so if a cylinder was 64.60 and needed honed what would it be after honed .60 over?im still new to this my bike blew up for the first time and it was 50 over each cylinder so im looking for new ones, iwas thinking about a vito 404 big bore kit but i dont know what i would need . plus one of my 17cc domes got mangled when the ring went if you are messureing your bore and saying it is 64.60 mm that does not mean its 60 over.A 60 over motor would be a 65.5 mm bore. You normally messure piston sizes in .50mm increments. each .25mm is known as .010 over. so each new piston size is 20 over.so a bore thats lets say 65mm thats a 40 over piston. becasue its 4 quarters ( 4 x .25mm over stock) stock being 64mm and one full mm over makes it a 65mm bore. Does that make sense? Are is the wording all jacked up? Now keep in mind you can buy pistons that are measured in .25 increment, they are are not as commonly carried on hand. pweezy42
i understand that i was looking at buying ones that were at that size cause mine are 50 over and when my ring went in the one side it took a big chunk out so if i bore it out i was told it would be close to the water jacket and i ride hard so i dont want to take any chances with it causing more damage when its 80 over... whats wrong with the vitos kit? sinisterboo
when I rebuilt my bike last year i had to go .100 over. I never had and issues with overheating or otherwise. matter of fact, i used vitos superstock pistons. bike made 58.93 hp to the rear tires with 20cc domes, cpi inframes, stock carbs, no porting. you need to have a reputable shop look at what you have, and see what thier recomendation is. And is that 64.60 measurement taken from the top? or was that at the bottom? bottom wears way more than the top. and the bigbore stuff is shit in my opinion. stock banshee cylinders have small enuff transfers, you would only be killing the flow in my opinion. And by the way, the only reason I removed my .100 over cylinders was to install my FAST ported cylinders.
