V Force Reeds

Recommended Posts

I got to thinking after reading some of the other posts in here and there's a great point being made, I'm making my references from running the reeds on ported engines, one with a full out drag port and the other with a mild port job, and that IS going to make a difference in how much changing the reeds will make. The majority of my testing was done on the drag bike. I didn't think about it earlier, but it definitely makes sense. In the future I need to make sure I add that info or make note of it.

Yeah, I heard they do wonders for built engines. I have an MX port on mine, and a very very mild one at that, actually still running stock carbs. I didnt really notice a big difference, but when I used to ride more, my stcokers needed new petals about every other season, where I'm still on the original set in my Boyesens, and I bought those used a year ago.

Anybody ever try the Duncan Pyramid Reed Valves? They look decent, but I'm about done buying and changing reed valves now.

Stay away from the pyramids.. Their over priced and don't perform as well as the V-force. I was on Duncan's support team awhile back so I got a good deal on them.. If i'm going to spend 220+ it would be the V-force.

I found that dyno sheet on the drag ported 350 comparing reed cages. It gives a good idea on how they perform. But on the more mild builds they should be closer. The dyno is a lil old so i'm guessing its VF2's.

the carbon techs are on stock ported cages.
