AWD_XTC
I always see numbers for things like control arms like +2 +1 etc what do they mean and how do you choose what combination you want/need?
Bill
The +2 means the arm is 2 inches longer, +1 means the front tires are brought 1 inch forward.
AWD_XTC
Ok thanks, so I assume then that you would want a certain setup for a certain kind of riding like for dunes. How do you know what control arms to buy?
GrMeyer
find one with a builder backing their product and with a good metal. I have the burgard +2+1's on my banshee and love them... As for what kind to pick from its mostly just find a great deal... And as for shocks they can make or break you. The elka dunes are the best thing on my raptor and the eat everything. I have a group i ride with at glamis and three of them have gotten the elka dunes because they are great. but really any after market shocks are better then stock. just make sure you get some with Compression Adj, Rebound Adj and Preload Adj for the min. I put the yfz shocks on my banshee because i got them new for $150. and im just going to send them to my shock rebuilder guy and have them revalve it for my riding. Other then that. just stay with any old +2+1 arms and you should be good. and when you get he arms look over the welds and if they look like ass send them back and get new ones. There are guys that like the race there bikes in a line and other that like the carve and throw them over hills and jumps. Everyone that has or riden a stock suspension banshee knows that you cant ride very long. So mostly just use the search button because there are alot of reviews out there. AWD_XTC
well I was thinking about using fox evols as I saw on here that you can use an a-arm setup from a raptor either that or this setup http://janssenmotorsports.com/product_info...2772edb599a344f
hercalmighty
I would stick with a +2+1 arm. Banshees dont like long travel arms due to bump steer. I went with Janssen +2+1 MX tech arms with Elka shocks. Just make sure that who ever you go through uses chromoly not steel. Also look at their warrenties. Janssen gives you a life time warrenty against bendage and breakage. Another thing if your going to get arms make sure they are fully adjustable. You want to be able to set the camber and castor. dragbanshee
You may even check out the wicked arms on ebay, their a nice product the fit, finish are top notch. So your +2 up1 is going to give you 4 inches wider plus your wheel offset, think about trail riding, if you do any.
AWD_XTC
I live in PA so trail riding is going to be about 95% of my riding. I like to hit up some jumps too, nothing crazy but I just want to make sure I have a suspension that can handle it.
hercalmighty
Where at in PA? If you trail ride you really need to stay with a +2+1 or stay stock if you ride real tight trails. Pretty much any of the aftermarket arms will take some small to medium jumps

Michael Jackson
+2+1 are fine for trails, the banshee is already very narrow to begin with, 4 inches isnt gona make you hit trees dont worry, and for a weekend warrior you dont need to spend $700+ on these big name brand a arms,$400-500 there are alot of choices
Washburn
I ride trails too and race some so I saved up for the best and now I have my dream Banshee setup. I went with full chromoly (very important for any style a arm) and caster/camber adjustments Lonestar racing a arms then I saved saved and saved some more for front standerd travle Elka Elites High/LOW compresion and rebound I also got the rear Elka Elite Long Travel on Elkas LT Linkage and thats the best setup you can buy for your Banshee. The shocks and a arms are unbelievable as far as sucking up big ruts and big roots plus you can set it up for whatever style you want one setting for woods then you can use the suspensions adjustability to go for long jumps rough shit agressive to medium trail riding/competitive woods racing they are the best if you have the money. More money you have = the better setup you can get.
AWD_XTC
ok thats what I really want, the ability to change my setup for different riding. I men I may ride trails most of the time but why limit myself to just that.
boneyardbanshee.
hey whats up I live in Meadville. Anyhow you could set up a 450 front end cheap. I got my brother working on some spacers to make them work. If I remember right they add about +2+1. I think they will be just fine for 95% of the trails I ride.
