fastrthnu
I have an 02 GT convertable with the 4.6 in it and I have the chance to get a 5.4L supercharged for $750 out of a truck with harness and all. Question is,.... can these swap? If I have to go through extremes Im not going to do it, but if the tranny bolts right up and the motor mounts match up I will. Any input would be great. fastrthnu
BUY THAT SHIT ANYWAY FOR 750 STUNAD!!!!! DECIDE WHAT YOUR GONNA SHOEHORN IT IN LATER!!!! from what I gather they are the same width at frame/wheel housing level but 6"+ taller and that is an outragous cowl for a daily driver lol. Im still researching it and asking all over. I dont know if its worth all the work, but its cheaper than $3000 for a supercharger.
250psd
I think they make lower motor mounts for the swap. Check out SVTperformance I'm sure someone could help you there. Good luck!
fastrthnu
Ok, I figured it out. I can. But a supercharger will need clearance under the hood. I can use a std 5.4L 3v and get the swap intake or use a 4.6 intake with adaptor plates and not have to add any clearance. the std 330 5.4 produces 300rwhp on an extended cab f-150 with 365ft-lbs of torque bone stock, so in a convertable mustang I can imagine adding some round about of +50 to both which would be good streetable power. The mounts are the same, the 4.6 harness is plug n play. Just a tune up is needed for the extra cubes utilizing the existing 4.6 computer and harness. with a good set of headers, intake/throttle body, underdrive pullies, chip, ect all the cheap bolt ons adding up to about $1000, should put me up another 40 or so, and with cams/porting,.... would all be 1/2 the price of putting a blower on. Not to mention shorter mustang tires, gears, and rear end. Plus all the accessories are the same, brackets and all. the engines are pretty much identical, with some 4.6 valve covers and having the 4.6 intake on, thats a sleeper. Should pull some big numbers w/o any boost. Also maybe worthy of mentioning I just got an 88 camaro RS project strip only car Im going to back half and all with a healthy 385 4 bolt for a 300ex I was selling. I told myself next car was going to be a small block bc the 2 454`s I had took me 2 years to build. Cost alot!! They are so much cheaper and lighter. I might try and trade this 350 block for a 400,. then stroke/punch it to a mid 400cid. I know world products has a small block 454. I love a big bbc though.

My harness will work and I get the truck harness and might have to just make a few splices, and I guess a few other things that have to do with the alarm, and cam phasing or somethin. Im not going to do anything until I know it all and know I can do it in a weekend.
