dirtydownunder
its a tuff call becuase if your hands get worse and you cant work (i hope is not the case) you will need that disability money to live and if you get caught riding they can stop those payments (thats how it works here anyway) yeh riding is awesome but you need money to live aswell, maybe buy a lotto ticket to set your self up hehe. a few oppinions is always good. caddyman
Is that one of those air knifes that had the long tube with a reciporcating blade inside the tube used to cut out windshields, back and quarter glass. We had one of those at the salvage yard and it sucked to run. Just like a giant vibrator that makes your hand go numb. I would rather use the thin wire, with two handles and saw back and fourth to cut it out. Yep thats the one. Was the one you used made by Chicago Pnuematic?? If so throw that fucker out. They settled the class action suit this year finally, been in court since 2003.
fastbanshee8
I've had nerve problems in both hands for the last two years. I had ulnar nerve transposition done in my left arm 2 years ago, and my pinky, and ring fingers still tingle, but it was because the nerve damage was really bad. The doc said it may take 5 years to get the nerves healed up, so that they work right. I just had ulnar nerve transposition, and carpal tunnel release done on my right arm, a little over 2 months ago, and it's taking a lot longer to heal up, than the first surgery. The carpal tunnel release is painful, but things are getting better. The bad thing with nerve surgeries, is the longer you put them off, the worse the nerves get damaged, and you can end up with permanent nerve damage, so I suggest that you get the carpal tunnel done ASAP. The good thing is, not a one of my 3 doctors has said for me to quit riding. Good luck, and don't give up on the riding. If you put your mind to it, you can do whatever you want, even if the doctors tell you that you can't.
GrMeyer
I had a surgery done after I popped my shoulder out on a house search in Iraq and had it popped back in for the rest of the deployment. well after the surg. i have 5 screws and im still due to get another when i get out. but ya man i know what the feeling is like not having anything in your hand and you fall off and everyone is like what the hell. so i ride when i can full out tell i cant anymore for the day and then ride the rhino (beer wagon) for the rest. So i say move out to Az and ride when you can and keep it safe. No more super mans !!! But as of the docs. watch out and do reseach. Thats where i got messed up on. from what i know now i would have been better off waiting 2 more months in pain from what i have left with my shoulder. i cant even throw a ball anymore and im only 23. But you live you learn. I just want to throw a thanks to all for all the great help everyone has been on here and for everyone to have a safe holidays coming up, and the best of luck to all
2strokespirit
So long story short, I'm in auto glass, been doing it for 12+years. In the beginning of my career we used a tool made by Chicago Pnumatic that made unsafe RPM's that in turn damaged our hands. So there was a lawsuit, bla, bla, got some cash from the suit and I've been dealing with L&I to determine my % of disability which was set at 20% in each hand, they didn't agree, so this is why I'm getting more testing done. Funny to cause the doc want to open another claim if I have nerve damage...lol So the doc I went to see yesterday wants to do more tests because he thinks I have nerve damage as well as Raynauds..... FUCK! I believe it cause I cant hold onto shit anymore.......but, FUCK! More tests, more disability money in the long run. BUT, no quads either..... Now I'm trying to decide what to do, he says no more street bike too........FUCK! And I just got the wife back on.........was buying my daughter a Blaster.... Anyway......I just thought I would let the HQ know......you guys are extended family so.... No typing errors.... Think you should still get a banshee!!! So I pay particular attention to that, it might take me an hour to type a paragraph............... Yeah, I'm keeping the Banshee for now, selling the street bike.
