It looks like the only way to see if the seal is bad is to do a leakdown test.Shit! thats what i was trying to avoid but it needs to be done.I cant ride with the crap compression and the right cylinder fouling.Sand went into a crack on a carb boot and got sucked in.I found a shovel full on my reeds and I know thats whats causing my dome pitting. Either the crank seal is gone or I have excessive blow-by in the cylinders or both.
  2. I have the correct amount of tranny fluid in there. I pulled the breather on the right side of the case to check to see if i have a shot crank seal and a bunch of oil dripped out of the breather tube and the line.I was going for the soap over the breather tube trick.If it bubbled the the seal is bad if not than its not the culprit.I also need a fresh top end but I'm trying to solve one thing at a time. Great my 600th post has to be about this.

  4. Youre right. Just loosen up the clamps pull your choke tube out and rotate em' tward you.The rest is in your clymers. I'm curious about the dial-a-jet myself. What???? No dial-a-pilot or Dial-a-dome?
  5. I just changed my pilots and after playin with the airscrews and idle it makes a big diff in take off.try it!
  6. I just did a comp test on mine and I need a top end too.I have the clymers manual(finally) and i just need money to do it. Right cylinder is shot to shit.The manual is is very precise on what needs to be done.It will be a good expirience.
  7. Sorry to hear that they screwed you on the port job. I'm just curious how much material they take out for trail porting.Maybe it can be corrected with someone else who knows their shit on good porting.It may save your cylinders. But hell......port job+port job=roughly 800 bucks! Are you on stock bore?
  8. This is good info. I'm a hillclimb nut and an tworn between a +2 and a +4 swingarm. I'm running a stocker right now and the front wants to lift.No matter how far I lean into it. My HP is good guestimated around 50.Cant stand trails. Screaminshee: It almost sounds like you need two different swingarms for what you described for your riding style.If you get a -2 you will do fine for trails because of the engine you have. your idle to 1/8 and 1/8 to 1/2 should be right there when you need it.A sprocket change may be necessary.

  11. Lost a good riding buddie of mine because when shows how much he loves his girlfriend he didnt wear a "glove". There is no shortage of folk to ride with in CT.Just riding spots.I still retained 7 riders of my group. There's alot of riders in PA. Stick with it and if you do find people make sure they are who you WANT to ride with.

When I went into the local dealership I was greeted with a "who the hell are you" look.Probably because I was there for a 5.00 purchase instead of an $8000 one.I wanted to tell them i bought my shee $2000 cheaper in New Hampshire than from them.I'm not one for a pissing contest. I'm a greatful HQ member.

  15. Only pay dealership prices out of desperation! If you broke your shee saturday and a big ride is on Sunday,sometimes you'll just have to eat those gouging prices. Those prices are to rip off the riders that don't know that lower pricing is avaliable elsewhere. They prey on the gullable and nieve.

  17. What if you dont have the HP to pull the high gearing? A 15 tooth spocket makes me a little boggy on 3rd gear climbs.If I let off the gas for a little bit I'm in the middle of a steep hill without powerband.That sucks. Most of my hillclimbs have only 40ft for you decide what speed and gear you want to use to get up. I like the 13 tooth sprocket in the front.
  18. Does all that oil and wax help sand to stick to your chain? Sand likes to grind chains and can do it in a hurry.Especially with some help from lubricants.If I know I'm heading to the sand pit I wont lube or goop it at all.

  24. This topic is a little too much.If you go to a club or a decent bar and the scan your fake ID for its bar code and nothing shows,your freakin hit! You can even get you licence pulled till your 24.Connecticut takes no shit when it comes to fake ID's.Laura Bush got pinched at one of my favorite bars in New Haven for that crap.If it does'nt fly with prez's daughter what do you think will happen to you?
