  1. My riding buds are ringing the shit out of my phone every Friday to go rippin on the weekends. The sand pit i go to looks the best it's ever been and I'm sitting here with my crank in my hand.-----so to speak. Snow is gone it's time to ride.
  2. My father calls my bags of parts "Yamaha trail mix". He's amused with the teardown I'm doing on my shee.Funny how he always thinks there's an oilpan, cam and driveshaft on it.
  3. I'm a good banshee rider.I don't get hurt.J/K I have kicked her off me quite a few times but never broke a bone or spat teeth. Just some sand rash.It does hurt picking it out of your skin, though.
  4. Good for you girl!!! Dig right in!!!
  5. Another HQ member in Connecticut! Good deal.We all should get together and go for a rip.I got a safe pit just southwest of Hartford if need be. ----A 250r on stock bore for 2200 is a damn good deal.Grab it! Around here sometimes you can find R's pretty cheap because they know it's an old quad and to them it's just useless clutter in their garage or shed. They don't know what they have.
  6. In my opinion, horsepower before looks.Pipes and get a Noss head.I learned my lesson by loading the thing up with $1400 worth of sexy shit. Then when I wasn't making the climbs I had little money for ponies.tThat was pre-BHQ era.
  7. What are the Monson girls likeCoolhead03? I'll get all the climb dates this weekend. I was wondering if there is a safe spot closer to Monson?
  8. Make sure you have a good seal on your carb boots. Does it still want to rev?
  9. 32:1 is the way to go on Yamalube. At that mix it keeps your crank happy as hell.Stay consistant with the mix ratio on the back of the bottle.
  10. This will work.My trout hatchery is starting to make some money and now I can afford a new crank and fresh top end. This wont take long and I'll be ready to ride with everyone. Massfest 2004? I have a group of riding buds that ride banshees and if you wish I could have 7 shees there in a flash. One of them is the pres. of New England Hillclimbers club. You gotta see this dudes shee he competes with. The thing is nutz.He will be at the Monson hill next month sometime.I will get a schedule if youre interested. It's pleasing to hear that the pit is cool to ride in.So we can ride in there again I'll let the owner win a few drags!!(yeah, right!)
  11. Isn't that up north by the saranacs but west?
  12. As long as it's cool with the owner I'll go. Sometimes pit owners will let you ride in their pit but you have to stay off certain sand or gravel mounds because its an order going out on monday.I guess you can easily say I'm cautious where i ride. I'm going ot bring a riding bud alog and he has a warrior. I if the pit is legit that I might have my other riding pals along. They are all old as i am and responsible.
  13. We just had something very similar happen in Connecticut. The guy punctured his lung and had to be flown out. Then again it was because of a jump and didnt know what was on the other side.He lived but is still in intensive care 8 days after the mishap.
  14. He is asking a worthy question though. My guess a good time to sell a shee is during the late spring and summer. Some riders get a chance to have their first ride on one a get hooked. Then they get a case of the "I wants" selling what they have and salting away their cash. They want to get it before the riding season is over. The market is flooded with banshees right now.Even for aftermarket stuff there are price wars.
  15. I followed Banchetta's advice on the airbox and worked out great! After some jetting tweaks you will notice a nice difference! He's right I gained around 4hp.
  16. Sounds like a plan.Once I put my "humpty-dumpty" back together again. We'll go and give it hell. What size pit is it?Are there and good hillclimbs?I love those things!!
  17. Use something to hold the rear brake down.then use a chain wrench wrap it around the flywheel and lock it in tight.Make sure the chain is on the outside of the flywheel. Then put your torque wrench to the nut and and it should go.Definetly get a banshee flywheel remover.Dont even try to pry it off.The removal tool screws into the fine threads of the flywheel. The smaller piece screws into removal tool and puts pressure on the end of the crank drawing the flywheel forward then out. Keep an eye on that key you'll need it later.
  18. On OLN half of the dirt rider show was on how capable the banshee is.The showed a place called "banshee hill" and showed these dudes with some high HP shees screamin up it.The field reporter talked about the power of the shee. The next section was on sand dragging and there were zillas and shees going like hell. The interviewed one guy who stated that he has 20 grand into his shee and mentioned his can do 82mph in 300ft.The show ended with shees shreddin sand. That was the best show I have seen yet!
  19. With your mods it's not even a fair fight. The poor guy just has to sit on his "green sofa" and wait for the thing to shift.
  20. i had the same problem as Mr.Matt. Those things are quick at the start but as the thing gets going the rider can only sit and wait for shifting. Start in second or third and you'll be set.
  21. I'm not big on running from the law. I'd rather know it's a safe place so I can park and ride there without the badgering of EP's.As long as i know those two factors I will ride with you.Are there any other pits in the area that you know are safe?
  22. You can run the hell out of honda ATV's and they won't die. They are like yamahas warrior. My friend has an EX and I like to ride it once in a while.I just can't smoke through the gears like a shee.Grease zerks would be a plus.Honda has the ability to create a damn good ATV.The reliability is there but the engine performance is not.I'd just say if they got their shit together the ATV world would be different.
  23. If you feel that it could jeopardize performance or a good days ride, replace it.Yamaha steel is not the greatest stuff.sorry that happened to you.
