  1. I had a loose stator screw give me hell once.I couldn't see it till i took the flywheel off and there it was jammed into the stator. The lil'bastard bounced around in there for a while till it wedged itself.Pull the flywheel and have a good look. It's worth the time.
  2. After i wash the shee I immediately fire it up and let it idle.Just so the water evaporates before it can do it's work around my bolt, nuts, seals and gaskets. You should plug up your intake and exhaust from any water getting in there when you wash.Especially with a powerwasher.
  3. Son of a.......The damn pickup coil was loose. It looks like it got beat up pretty good too. Flywheel points look like hell.Screw it I'm gonna give Rickystator a call and get everything new. Flywheel, plate and stator. I wanna ride!!
  4. My left fires when it should but theres trouble with the right.I swapped both CDI and coil and still the right side fires intermittenly.I have also tried different plugs. The only thing that has not been checked is the stator.Could it be??? My jetting is fine. TORS is unplugged.

  6. Woah! I can even feel the increased compression just by kicking it over.It started in 4 kicks.I'm on the second heat cycle and I just noticed that I'm getting an intermittent spark on it.This has to be resolved before I follow through with break in.The plug was gapped and changed and it's still occuring. This is troublesome . The left is running strong and fires perfectly.
  7. I just spent 6 hours working on my shee.I found some money and replaced the crank and am now breaking in the top end with heat cycles. Thanks for the replies for the break in procedure.I will do everything possible to make sure this engine lasts.I will be reading this as i do the break in.
  8. I will be riding Sunday if all goes well.Whats the right way to brake in a new top end? Should I go by the clymers?
  9. I don't know what it is but those pipes but they work well with a 2 into 1 carb setup. My buddie had it before he got the 400 and his shee had cookin midrange.
  10. I know you love the HQ and I knew it was immediate bullshit just by your screen name. Good comedy Trick2stroke!
  11. A neglected shee will lead to alot of the mfg. flaws surface.Over time stock parts to go to hell in a hurry and it gives me an excuse to get aftermarket goodies. I firmly believe in preventive maintenance but some things just wear out on thier own. Yamaha built a cost effective product that is fast and desirable. They built the shee just to get you out on the dunes or gravel pits.Yeah, They didn't use the best of materials to make it last but they left the rest up to you and for you to decide how much more reliable and faster you want it.With all the aftermarket stuff thats out there you could easily state that the banshee is good for the economy.Alot of the shit for it is made right here in USA.
  12. Pink Floyd Pantera Alice in Chains Ted Nugent Iron Maiden Dream Theater Motley Crue -- and whatever riff that rocks when I play my Ibanez roadstarII.
  13. Hillshooting with a skid plate can be a pain in wet sand or gravel. Just as you're about to make it over that 10ft lipper you drag that skid plate and slow down right when you need that speed to pop you over the top. I run a plate just to protect whats necessary.
  14. I noticed some wicked casting flaws on my intake and exhaust walls.Would it be wise to grind them out or leave them be? It looks pretty rough in there!
  15. Coolhead03: What size are the pits in Enfield? The one I go to is roughly 55 acres. They have been doing alot of work in there lately and the pit is getting larger by the week.Plus more stuff to hit and climb.
  16. Just be sure to do you're brake in by the book to insure a health life of you're engine.then get out there and make the BHQ proud. Knowing me I would only wager bragging rights and that would be enough of a debt for him.
  17. Yankees starters salary----------101.4 million Devil Rays starters salary--------17.5 million All that loot spent by "the boss" and they still got smoked.
  18. Gentleman, Thank you for rushing to my aid in a time of need. I found a set of boots close to home. They are the boots on the engine side of the carbs that were needed. The small tear in the old boot is costing me an arm and a leg!
  19. That I'm not sure.Things don't get that hot on a shee.I believe a standard o-ring will do.The o-ring in the exhaust is a fat one.The pipe should go on snug. There should be some friction when it goes on.It should not feel loose.
  20. You should have rubber O-rings that are on the inside of the pipes on the exhaust end so you dont get that oil everywhere. You can rip them off your ol'stockers.
  21. Need intake carb boots in a hurry.Willing to pay premium.Mine got tworn and thats why I'm doing my top end right now.It would be a help if you had the clamps as well.
  22. Thats what happens when money is tight among friends and the rich kid gets a rappy.I like that one dude putting his gloveless hand down on the asphalt in the back. Thats bravery or stupidity. You decide.
  23. The 450 is hell of alot better than a stock shee.It would be a great if a stock shee weighed only 350lbs.Then you would feel some wicked pull when piped!450 is not a bad hillshooter either. The shee is more of a hobbie to alot of us.We like to add mods and dress it out to the way we desire. The aftermarket is so vast and the options are endless.
  24. I know that when the right crank seal craps out your right plug will expirience a rich to foul condition. No matter what you try to do with the carb you wil get black or red coloration on the plug. This can be answered by a leakdown test. Also your comp. reading will be low on the side your crank seal is spent. Your compression test will tell you if anything is up in your cylinders. Not to get you worried but when i blew a ring my shee went from running great to the thing burpin' and fartin" at any throttle position. In a matter of seconds this occured.
