  1. No, it is true! Even worse: If you install the engine reverse kit and accidentally only kick-start it halfway one cylinder will run forward while the other runs in reverse!
  2. UPDATE It has nothing to do with the lead! Need proof? Do you see anyone concerned about the cyclists or equestrians getting lead poisoning from their use of the area? No. They just want to get rid of the ATV riders. Why? There are groups like the Sierra Club who seek to characterize all ATV riders as a bunch of careless Hell-raising fools. For the last 30 years on almost any Saturday you can find parents spending quality time with their children riding ATVs at the park. That totally wrecks their agenda. Here are some more relevant links on how we can help this cause: A more local newspaper's version of these events is below. http://www.dailyjournalonline.com/articles...3b330914259.txt Official effort by locals and ATV riders to save the park... http://www.savestjoestatepark.com/ Opinion and commentary from the Midwest Trail Riders Association... http://ridemtra.com/Newsletters/MTRANewsle...URGENTStJoe.htm
  3. Article from very anti-ATV St. Louis newspaper Official State Park Web Site The latest EPA-direct information I could find
  4. I traded my 'Shee for a waverunner a while back. I miss trail riding, but I do not miss 11-12 hours to get there. It sounds like this might be worth the trip though. I am going to get a utility quad sometime in the future. Yeah, I know. Old and slow, but after breaking my back in four places on a Banshee I am not ashamed. I'll probably get those Mat-Track things on it because it looks cool (probably limits function as much as it helps). Then I'll be ready for that mud hole you mentioned... (If you do not know what the track I am talking about are CLICK HERE)
  5. A few years back I came off my 'Shee mid-fifth gear into the face of a trailside cliff. Ejected so fast my tight velcro'ed riding glove (front brake side) stayed with the bike. Broke my back in four places. Took over a year to recover. Still scared to ride a 4 wheeler fast. Doctor swears the chest protector saved my life. Helmet was almost destroyed and the chest protector literally in a couple dozen pieces afterward. Some of the chest protectors are supposed to be single impact. Like helmets - if you've had a bad wreck get a new one. The chest protector saved my life because I would have impaled my heart on a rock protrusion from the cliff face otherwise.
  6. Try this: http://www.dunesport.net/index.asp?PageAct...&ProdID=625 Or this: https://www.primos-usa.com/displayProductDo...mp;categoryId=5 I think that's it. Let me know if I need to look for something else.
  7. Ditto what Loco said. Especially if there is any current or you cannot see the bottom.
  8. Damn it! I am always late for this kind of stuff. Looks like Photobucket or whatever declared it offensive.
  9. Okay. I stand corrected. Damn! That is some good driving. I guess that one Sheriff John Burnell or whatever will never show that video. I am not against the police at all, but I just get tired of hearing him brag when it takes 5 cops with radios, spike strips and a helicopter to "out drive" one drunk with no special training. It is all about how he narrates the story as if it were a fair contest.
  10. Been watching these police pursuit shows on Court TV and I want to know... How come *NOBODY* can defeat that "pit" maneuver police do on the TV shows to catch getaway cars? I wonder if they just never show the ones where the police get "beat" because I've never seen someone just "get away" and I imagine that happens sometimes.
  11. California labor law is known to favor employees and having an advocate is always good, but... DO YOU REALLY WANT TO WORK IN A PLACE LIKE THAT?!?! I would not and they'll be looking to reprise as soon as possible after reinstatement. Yes, reprisal is usually illegal, but that's why God made legal loopholes. Good luck proving that case. Consider yourself better off. Economy is good. I have faith in you. Get out there and show'em you're better than they are!
  12. Well, if this is their web site the home page title is "Chinese Food, Wok-Cooked and Served Fast". Secondly, is their link to this article from USA Today on their "about Panda" page. It is presented in-line with the description of their company. So we agree Panda endorses this article about their organization, right? The title of the article is "Fast-food dynasty grows..." Then keep reading below the picture... I too think you are going to have a hell of a time collecting on the bet.
  13. Visit a couple of local dealerships for ATV sales literature. Search Lexus Nexus for court documents in the various cases against Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki which resulted in a voluntary moratorium on performance ATVs approximately 15 years ago. Yamaha persisted. You'll probably find something in the prosecution's arguments to support Yamaha's relentless commitment to customers who desired a sport machine. You may also discover why Yamaha was able to survive. Did they just persist or was there a lower accident rate on their machines? Why? By the same token, you could point out Yamaha has about a decade more experience as it continued making sport quads all through the 1990s. Albeit a clearer case for (the lack of) competition spuring innovation never exhisted. Kelly Blue Book. Compare new values against retail and trade-in values. Money talks. See which manufacturer has the most depreciation when all other factors are the same. The difference between retail and trade-in is supposed to reflect the "cost" a dealer incurs to prepare and sale the machine. Thusly a significant difference in one manufacturer's Retail / Trade-In value might suggest difficulty in reselling that manufacturer's product. I'll wait for your reply to suggest more options.
  14. Around here people go to REI for that sort of thing. It is like a Wal-Mart for outdoor activities. Clicky
