OK All, I am hoping to leverage a bit of knowledge from a few individuals who have experience with the boss intakes.
First off, a bit about my engine
350, midrange porting, fmf fatty's, v-force 3's, boss intake and 15cc domes, 34 pj's
OK, my question pertains the the potential intake configurations that can be run. I see three potential ways to run the boss intake
1. Boss intake with crossover block and v-force 3's with stuffers (part of v-force assembly
2. Boss intake with crossover block and v-force 3's without stuffers (modify v-force stuffers)
3. Boss intake without the crossover block and v-force 3's with stuffers
Scenerio #1 - The boss crossover block is opened up substantially on the reed cage side and it looks like the flow of air would crash into the stuffer assembly that is inserted into the VF3's.
Scenerio #2 - If the stuffer is modified significantly, it could be made to match the back side of the boss crossover block. This would expose the maximum reed surface.
Scenerio #3 - The removal of the crossover block from the boss intake would leave just the intake manifolds mounted directly to the cages. The bore thru the manifold matches very well to the stuffer on the VF3's and I would expect would give the smothest flow of all three. And it would move the carb closer to the engine which I would think would improve throttle response. However the carbs would no longer be able to talk to one another via the crossover chamber.....for whatever that is really worth.
Has anyone played around with any of these ideas??
