  1. I believe the Iraq war was, and still is, necessary. I imagine the Iraqis who are against it have something to lose in a relatively free society. Those aren't the people we are fighting for anyhow. Churchill was criticized initially for opposing Hitler, Reagan was criticized for how he ended the cold war, and now Bush is being criticized for fighting terrorism and the countries who sponsor and support terrorism. When you look at history, the weak leaders like LBJ, Clinton and Carter put us in the situations that the strong leaders had to bail us out of. Turning the other cheek or being a pussy only allows dictators and terrorists to become stronger.
  2. 20cc are usually okay with 93 octane at 1000' if the timing isn't advanced and the porting and deck height are stock. It's never a bad idea to check the squish clearance and compression when you install domes.
  3. I will admit that I am a little on the conservative side but at sea level with race gas, I'd run 19cc.
  4. I would hesitate to run 18cc domes at sea level with a stock crank.
  5. Did you stay at the private campground? Would it be good for utility quads, dirt bikes?
  6. I'm guessing that you mean a stroker crank. If that is the case, there is going to be some more info needed to properly select and/or design the domes. It might be best to call the engine builder and get specifics on the porting, how the cylinders or head was spaced or modified and see if he has a recommendation.
  7. At that elevation, 19cc should be fine with premium pump gas. What other mods do you have?
  8. With any size dome, you will increase compression and performance, most noticable on the bottom end. The horsepower increase varies with other mods. Cooling is also improved with most aftermarket heads.
  9. Lee, I hope, unless you really want to sell it, that you keep it the way it is. I know very little about the recent controversy and it is none of my business. This is a great site with a lot more activity and member involvement than any other that I have been to. That is a testament to how it is managed. You don't tell people how they should run their lives or business...it would be nice if they would extend the same courtesy to you. Thanks, David
  10. I'd tend to recommend 21cc then to stay on the safe side. erbilabuc: I don't know anyone that makes singles. Mercedes huh? You need to buy some of my products....
  11. Probably 20cc for what your mods are right now with premium pump gas. If you port or advance the timing or want to run race gas it would be different.
  12. Call Portworks. Darren was talking about doing that a while back. He does some pretty exotic Banshee stuff. 918-638-9185
  13. That you A.A.? I have a CRF250X I'm probably going to sell but it's not Blue and I'm not real close.
  14. Stan, Are you from Price? That's one of the places I've thought of moving to.
  15. It's not an exact match but it looks good with it.
  16. Did you type all of that? How long did it take?
  17. Probably 19cc depending on other mods
  18. I check the volume with the spark plug in. I use a flat plexiglas plate clamped to the bottom of the dome with a few vent holes and a fill hole. I fill it with a burett although I have used a livestock syringe on smaller domes like for small dirtbikes.
  19. I would say race gas unless something else is making it have less compression than it normally would.
  20. At higher elevations you can use a smaller dome to raise the compression but will need higher octane at the lower elevations. I would probably get the dome size for the area you ride the most. If you were going to take a trip to someplace a lot higher, like above 3000'-up, it might be worthwhile to have more than one set of domes. I'm assuming that you prefer to run premium pump gas.
  21. One of the airports at Rochester has an elevation of 500+ feet. If you want to run premium pump gas, I'd install 21cc domes. If you ride at higher elevations than where you live or want to run higher octane gas, you could go smaller on the domes. Hey Tonie, Did you get the jetting/fuel issue resolved?
  22. Let me know your elevation and other mods and I'll let you know the options. Thanks, David
  23. I'd probably run 50/50 to be safe with +4
  24. It depends on your porting. When the exhaust port is raised the compression will drop. I don't have my calculator out right now but if I remember, you lose somewhere around 3cc's for each mm the port is raised. You might want to check with the person that did the porting.
