  1. Milling it will make something not fit. Depending on where it's cobbed up it might not hurt the seal. You can sand it on a flat surface or even run a fine file across it to knock off any burrs or you can send it to me and I'll check it out. If it is along the outside edge and it doesn't extend in as far as the oring groove, smoothing it out will probably be fine. Let me know if you need any help with it. -David
  2. Is it new? Have you called RK and asked them about it? I don't know what size orings they used. If the cross section is 0.070" The oring groove should be pretty close to .085 wide and .050 deep. Where is it leaking?
  3. Jim, I sent a PM Thanks, David
  4. Anyone running these or know someone making big bore domes? I guess Patriot isn't making them. I know a few shops are putting the oring groove in the cylinders on big bores but that seems like a complicated solution.
  5. Here's a picture of the bottom I'm not sure I understand what is cracking on the PD head. You will need to re-install the stock studs if you change to the Noss head. -David
  6. If he sells it for that I guess I will need to raise my prices. If anyone is thinking about buying it I'll sell one for only $650....a savings of $200.....but hurry!!!
  7. I plan on adding your link to my site. Sorry I haven't yet.
  8. You probably do need more octane than premium pump with 20cc domes and advanced timing close to sea level. Jetting could be an issue also.
  9. At that elevation, I would think your compression should be around 105 Since it is pretty even, you might try a different guage with the engine hot holding the throttle wide open. Of course if it won't start it's difficult to get the engine warm. I hate to ask but does it have fuel and fire? When you figure out the problem, you could increase the elevation related lower compression with a shaved or aftermarket head.
  10. Like was said, lead lowers the tendency to detonate so it's not a bad idea if you advance the timing or increase the compression.
  11. Normally jetting requirements remain the same but it's never a bad idea to check the plugs. Let me know what you think after installation. -David
  12. A red anodized head with a set of domes is $247.50 + shipping with the BHQ discount. -David
  13. Yea, I'd like to see it. If anyone sees that it's going to be on TV, let me know.
  14. It's the same engine as the SV with a different cam profile for better low rpm torque. I'm trying to not think about other bikes yet. I rode the DL1000 and FJR. I liked the DL1000. The FJR was nice but uncomfortable and pretty spendy. I'm going to try to resist trading up until at least next spring.
  15. I have to ride a couple miles of loose gravel to get to the blacktop. That's enough 'dual sporting' for me on this bike. Stan, there's an idea....Maybe a MX and Freestyle competition for sportbikes in the next x-games.
  16. Suzuki calls it a dual-sport I wouldn't want to ride it on trails, maybe good fire roads
  17. Those are both great bikes. I looked at them but wanted to sit up a little more. (you know,,,I'm old)
  18. Suzuki DL650 Vstrom. Slow by the standards of a lot of BHQ'ers but good for two up and a little sport touring....and still carves good enough for me...for now
  19. You might check the compression to be sure the top is okay
  20. Well, I got a bike but am still running this stuff on sale.
  21. 17cc domes in a stroker....wow. Are you using a base spacer plate? What kind of compression are you running? What kind of fuel are you running? Is it smoking a lot? Are the floats stuck from sitting?
  22. Or a certain time to meet somewhere like the drag strip or something
  23. I might make it for this one. Haven't been there since last October.
  24. That might even it out. It was too tall for the stock tank on the 250R plus it was a suede type material which wasn't waterproof. If it got rained on it was a really big sponge.
